Arctic Cooling Liquid Freezer 120 AIO CPU Cooler Review - The Arctic Cooling Liquid Freezer 120 All-In-One CPU cooler is not exactly anything new, but it is a whole lot of very good existing technology put together into a single package. A proven cold plate, push pull fans, and a huge single radiator come stock, likely how you would spec your own water cooling system.

The review lists 1366 compatibility but the Amazon page does not. Please confirm.

Also, link to the 240mm version.

Arctic does not list compatibility with 1366 on its website, so I have removed that from our review. YMMV.

Holy hell. If the 120mm model performs that well I wanna see what the 240mm one does.

Wow, the dollar / performance ratio is impressive and the low noise makes it better.

Impressive, very good performance and very quiet at a sweet price, definitly going on the shortlist.

Will be interesting to see if the same holds true for the 240mm version.

That's awesome for $70! And the 240mm version is only $80 on Amazon with Prime shipping.

Yeah...I've been looking for something to replace my H80i, Think I found it.

Wow. I've basically ignored AIO coolers to date- spend my limited budget elsewhere. The performance of this might finally change my mind. Will definitely keep an eye on these.

Very impressive performance for sound volume .
One question on back plate, looks like that crossbar is back plate for Intel but how does it clear the stuff on back of Intel socket (center) ?
To bad no pic of back, that would of cleared it up I think .

Wow, impressive technology. I hadn't considered AIOs before but that could change.

Question for you - I currently have an older system with a Thermalright TRUE Spirit cooler and will be building a new system this year. Is this good enough to justify replacing the cooler in the new system?

THis was the most hilarious review I've ever read. I'm going along and with each result, I'm going "huh, that's really good." Then the dbs, and I was really impressed.

Then I hit the price. $70 for damn near the best cooling on the market?! Seriously laughed out loud and threw my hands up in the air.

I'll be looking for these to be available locally, and then I'm finally jumping on the AiO bandwagon for my main rig!

The 240 for only $79.99? *jaw hits floor* *schwing factor 10 Mr. Sulu* :D

Also, is it me or do the retention rings look very very very exactly like the original Corsair H50 retention rings? (I had a few H50s)

Damn, should have read this review earlier, I missed earlier price, now the 240 is cheaper. Hopefully Amazon will order more and the price will go back down.

Ahh well, ordered the 240 version instead. I mean, $10 more and twice the radiator. Can only be better, right? lol

I also picked up the 240. Looks like the radiator is a slight bit slimmer. Does being 240mm offset that?

Just looked, says 5 of the 240 units left in stock. How are these still in stock @ that price? :D

Well, the 240 is equally as impressive. On my 4670k overclocked to 4.6 @ 1.292v my old H80i would hit low 90's under load with IBT. Now, 78c max. Using AIDA64 it never breaks 70c while before it'd be in the mid to upper 80's.

This may give me a tad more headroom to push for a higher overclock. We shall see.

And, damn is this thing quiet!

Word of caution. It's a thick radiator. I have a Antec GX700 case and had to mount two of the fans on the outside of the case. It simply would not fit all inside.

Fuck, I knew I should have bought it at that price... Think it'll come back down again any time soon? And the $69 price is back on the 120

On the review I wish they would have stated the rpm of the fans.
At 100% these things are LOUD and annoying.

I found the speed needs to be at 750rpm or lower to be the same as a Noctua.

I just received the 240. Disappointed 2 of the fans make a wobbling sound.
The good news is my 3570k o/c to 4.3Ghz runs at 30c idle and 60c on full load with Prime with the fans at 750rpm.

Anyone have a good recommendation on replacement fans?
Too much hassle to take apart and return.

LOUD? The Corsair SP120's are far louder when they ramp up to 2000 RPM's. These Arctic fans run at 1200 RPM at top speed and are damn near silent.

Maybe you got some bunk fans.

I wish I'd have seen this before my build.

Running a Corsair H100iGTX on a 5930K. It's pretty good, but under max load the fans are just stupid loud. I mean, I'm pretty sure it'd suck a cat through the grill and shoot cat puree out the other side.

I replaced all the fans with Nocutras. Much better.

But still, having to eat the cost of additional fans is annoying. Plus, the Corsair software is complete crap.

LOL 240 is now $117 from "these sellers" while the 120 is back down to $70 with prime.

Popular product is popular.

I maybe want to get the 120 version and use it with a NZXT Kraken G10 to cool my GTX 980 Ti. Cheap awesome watercooling for $100.00.

Anyone know if this combo will go together? I'm a bit worried that the tubes are just too short to get this done, though.

I run 5 of these fans in my server and I can barely hear the hum.

They are all running at max.

I've been considering the Corsair H110I GTX (and now the H115) for a long while now, but the AC Freezer 240 probably just jumped to #1 on my list because of how great the Freezer 120 performs. Thanks for the great review, [H]!

Arctic makes a model specific for GPU's. Looks like a good package as you still need heatsinks for the vrm.

Then I must have a bum unit. I can hear the fans outside my bedroom if they are on max.
You could very well have a bum fan, AC's quality control on their fans are a bit lacking sometimes. It also depends on what style of fan you get. They have solid fans (even the cheap ones) that sell in bulk and make great fans as well.
