Aquaero 6 New PWM fans Set to 2000 RPM

I've only used the Power controlled 3 wire fans before but the aquaero 6 powers the first two channels off if the fans are run at full power.

I got three of the Splitty9 Actives to replace the old Splitty9s in the hopes of getting around the issue.

I've just rebuilt the PC with new 4 wire PWM fans and I've changed each fan channels Advanced settings to PWM controlled but the controllers don't seem to effect them. Just testing with one fan and it's stuck at 2000rpm.

Is there a setting that needs to change for the controllers as well? Everything seems to be % power related.

I remember having issues with this at first as well.

The settings needed are counter intuitive (and possibly even plain wrong).

Unfortunately my system is disassembled in a corner right now after the leak in my office, so I can't check my settings right now.

All I can say right now is that I was able to get it to work with PWM control, but the settings I had to use to do so where really confusing and seemed wrong to me, but I can't remember what they were off the top of my head. I got there through trial and error.

Yeah, it seems odd that changing the setting to power or PWM controlled don't seem to do anything.

Had a few issues.
Not sure why but the calitemp disappeared at some point and triggered an alarm for the first time since setting it up. I thought there was a way to acknowledge the alarms. It was very loud, and it took some time to get it working. In the end I just powered the system off and then back on and the sensor returned and has been fine ever since. Please let me know how to silence the active alarm.
When the fans stop on the two channels all voltage, power and current goes away.

I also updated to the latest version (X.68) of aquasuite.

For a short time without changing anything the first two channels seemed to be working with their controller and running at about 600rpm. I had the third channels SPLITTY9 Active level pot set so the fans were off as they are not needed when all fans are running full speed. When I adjusted the level so the fans came on that channel the other channels went back to full speed again.

In the Controllers, I added a Preset value controller and moved all the channels to it. I set it to 10%.

I set all three channels to a rage of 10-100%.

I then turned the pots until the fans on each Splitty9 Active were off.

Now I can run the fans at their lowest speed, seems like 350rpm, with the Preset value controller at 14%, they come on.



But, when I move the channels back to the curve controller all the power info goes away and they all go to max 2000rpm.
I had to change the curve controllers range from 0-100% that worked with the old fans to 1-100%. Not sure why but now the curve controllers are setting the fans. What a pain.

Yeah, the Aquaero's can be a little weird to set up sometimes, but once you have them running they do things that nothing else does and a re really awesome. It's worth the little bit of extra work to get them working properly.

If you want the fans to be quiet and not run any faster than you need them to, try using preset controllers instead of fan curves. They are much more effective at meeting the temperature goal without rubbing the fans too fast at lower loada like fan curves do

Not sure I follow, wouldn't the preset controller be fixed? They don't even have an input.
The curve controller seems ok. I have 3 360 radiators for a RTX 4090 and a AMD 7950X3D, the fans mostly never run. I manly want them to run as to get the warm air out of the case.

You have warm air in your case with both the CPU and GPU water-cooled? How warm are we talking?

I'm not sure how warm the ambient air temperature in the case is, but it is warm. The RTX 4900 and to a lesser degree the 7950X3D dump a ton of heat. When I game it's like having a heater in the room. More so then in the past with my previous setups. It no longer makes any noise which is great.

That's the main thing I struggled with when setting up the fans. There are nine on the radiators and it seems like you want to pull air from outside to have the coolest air over the radiators and then I have three fans at the top of the case helping pull the air out. There is the one at the back for the classic motherboard or CPU fan that is also pulling air in and maybe it should also just be pulling air out.

Maybe it would be better to pull air in from the top and then out across the radiators, but then you're warming the air in the case with the pump and motherboard along with whatever heat is generated by the power supply, CPU, GPU and whatever else is in the case

Either way, I've still got a little heater setting next to me.
