Apollo 10 Astronauts Heard Odd Music On Far Side Of Moon

I work with a guy who truly believes that the moon landing was faked and that we (the United States) blew up the WTC ourselves. I believe he calls himself a 911 Truther. I've never asked but I bet he's a Scientologist too.

Those are his actual problems IMHO. It's cool to have the urge to pursue different perspectives, but once someone drops a tag like '911 truther' or 'scientologist' or 'liberal' or 'conservative' or 'right wing extremist' that's when the ideas give way to simple sheepish monkey see monkey do.

yeah there are many things, too many to list, i already listed 2 that are obvious and true

By that you mean the "faking earth shots from the high orbit" (just watched the supposed window manipulations on youtube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCHG6uJH5L8 )
I will not say you're 100% wrong. I'd have to posess access to 100% of all facts and that's an opportunity few have leaving the rest to battle over red herrings.

I don't know why the wrong distances are mentioned. Event so important that they actually had pre-prepared lines they had to reherse? What would YOU say whilst climbing down a ladder onto a surface of a celestial body? because I know I'd be like 'oh f**k oh f***k oh f****k' and not anything poetic. I would not be that calm.

I don't know if there was indeed a camera covering the whole illuminator (window) preventing direct view. Inconclusive. The 'mystery' hand and 'panning away' could be all done by the same guy - the operator.
The ship might have been darkened on purpose to prevent glare and/or contaminating the film with space radiation.

When they zoom out and Earth becomes large and bright, I can't see an outline of our planet, only its brightness. Voice over says 'iris opened' meaning open aperture? If the craft is still darkened then there may indeed an amount of reflected light so abundant that it actually becomes washed out leaving the interior visible.

Also, perspective distortion in variable focal length lenses.

I'm no doctor, no analogue film specialist, no astronaut. Just a tin foil hat photographer who loves to learn about people's ideas...

Lol... Fake moon landing believers actually exist. And here, man this place is going to shit.

BTW: I used to sit on my mothers shoulders watching the Apollo launches from the family viewing area, my dad actually worked at NASA then, he was an engineer and worked on the crawlers.

I am fairly sure if this was faked, I would have heard about it from legitimate sources.

Let me address the lack of stars in the background issue with an untouched picture I made in my backyard in the middle of a summer afternoon with bright sunlight. I took the picture because I wanted to see how my telescope camera would handle bright scenery. It's a high contrast camera, specifically built to enhance bright sources of light to stand out against the background.

What you do not see in this photo is the water in the lake nor do you see the dock railing the bird was perched on. You also do not see the foliage of the trees in the background and you do not see the bright sky in the background beyond those trees.

This is all about contrast and limitations of the equipment design, nothing else.

Sorry, pic didn't come through right. Here is the picture of the bird I referenced in post 47

ah yeah the Russians would surely expose them, therefore it's not fake,
don't look at the evidence, just trust the russians, nah i'm good brah

If by evidence you mean hysteria and pseudo-science, then you only think you're good, brah. You do realize that the only reason we sent men to the moon was to beat Russia to it, right? So yes, they would love nothing more than to prove us wrong. And another thing that you already know but I feel the need to point out - Russia has put plenty of probes in orbit around and on the surface of the moon. So yeah, they would've said something by now.

There's more crdible evidence that Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, and Tupac are still alive than the moon landings were faked.

This thread has restored my lack of faith in humanity.
Funny how this wording makes me want to make a smartass remark about how you can't replenish with void.

It's healthy to question everything but only when you're taught humility and respect towards people more knowladgeable than yourself. If I can't rebute I read up on a subject to refresh my info. This should be celebrated... this one hasn't been yet taking to an extreme and I'm 99% percent sure buhbuhfet is simply trying us. I believe the term is trolling. At least a few neurons fired here and there.

ah yes, the olde "trust the experts" thing, sorry but i don't need a weatherman to tell me which way the wind is blowing,

bringing up facts is trolling? i guess it would be if you're not interested in the facts

I was defending you from post one

By which I mean - I'm not telling you what to think because you may as well be THE expert - how would I know from my armchair?

And trolling is something I am accused of as well simply for discussing or questioning a) stuff set in stone b) stuff I think I know but honestly am arguing to learn c) walls of text

The world can't stop for every crackpot fantasy. In fact more and more people are living in their own little fantasy versions of the world its safe to bet he is sincere. And soon civility will collapse because world views are so far apart, the gap can not be reconciled. When discussion fails to have a possible productive outcome, the killing eventually comes next. I'm not being facetious. Its one thing to have a different opinion its another throw it in others faces with an arrogant I don't care what you have to say attiude. And on the lesser chance it is trolling, troiling itself is a war on productive discussion. The majority of trolling I witness is done to either waste people's time as the reward or to derail a discussion not going the way the troll wants. So there's no joy for humanity there either.

That is all true if and when reasoning fails. From my point of view, buhbuhfet should have started with all his arguments out on the table and ready to defend them using facts.
That is the chance I wanted for him, he provided two arguments. Let's say education failed and some people here find his theory hilarious.
Allusions to eugenics without so much as addressing his arguments is a waste of time. Buhbuhfet not responding to my arguments would be another line I wouldn't cross for the sake of the quality of discussion.
There was some arrogance, some arguments, some counterarguments and then then eugenics.
We're here to close the rift you mention and I for one am not the one to build sandcastles. I do listen.

Eugenics is such a harsh word with negative connotations. There's nothing inhumane about putting a lame horse down.

you still believe someone went to the moon? lol

The problem with your ideology is that moonrock samples were taken on multiple occasions. But your level of anti-intellectualism might say "oh those are frauds" in which i'd like to wish you wonderful disease just like the idiotic anti-vaxxers out there.

I will say that you are entitled to your own opinion no matter how moronic it is. :)

didn't say anything about moon rocks, besides a rock is a rock, you can't tell it's not a rock from your back yard unless some "expert" tells you,
pointing out facts is anti intellectualism? vewy vewy intewestin, love anti-vaxxers btw, i hope you get more vaccines in you, you're already pretty screwed up, but one more wouldn't hurt

The truly sad thing is you are hurting herd immunity. But I bet your iq is too low to even know what that is without looking it up.

"human thought is so primitive that it is viewed as an infectious disease in some of the higher systems, kinda makes you proud doesn't it kid"

The anti-vaxxers are the worst. Their entire point of view is built upon the retracted and discredited study by Andrew Wakefield. Wakefield actually lost his medical license due to his false study claiming a link between vaccines and autism. Wakefield was actually found to have been developing a line of litigation based testing kits which he would have benefited from financially due to his anti-vaccine nonsense. If I am not mistaken there have even been charges of child abuse leveled against Wakefield.

actually the anti-vaxxers are the best, because they exercise their freedom to say no, regardless of the herd mentality, and regardless of what "discredited" study you can come up with, lol
also, if vaccines protect you, why do you care if anyone else takes them? you're protected, right?

There are a whole bunch of people who can't have vaccines or are at risk due to compromised immune systems. Additionally, as a father of young children, I am fully aware of the fact that children under 2 months (and under 4 months due to the second dose) cannot be vaccinated, so the unvaccinated pose a very real threat to them.

EDIT: I find it amazing that my post, in response to some anti-vax BS was deleted due to "off-topic" and yet this thread is entirely filled with people saying the moon landing was faked.

yeah there are some people that can't be vaccinated and there are some people that won't be vaccinated, you simply have to accept that

The problem with this is you do not possess the knowledge nor the tools to do the jobs of these 'experts'. So you can't trust what some people say but you will trust others (cherry picking websites based on your argument) so you have no stronger information to use. I agree that a fact is a fact when proven, but you have to at least see the frailty in your points. You won't believe what you are told is true by person "A" (which is admirable, one must question everything) but you will believe when person "B" calls person "A" a liar.

Yea I hate to do the side of if we werent actually there a country would prove us wrong, but it is pretty solid. Imagine the loss of credibility had we not actually landed and any other country wandered up there to find out and there was no trace left behind.

If those that choose not to be vaccinated had any logical reason to not be vaccinated, than I could accept it. However these people don't get vaccinated due to ignorance and misinformation ... because their monumental ignorance poses a threat to others it will not be, and should not be, accepted.
