My home network consist of the following:

Netgear Ready Nas Duo with x2 1tb drives (home file/media server)
x3 Netgear NTV550s (stream content from server to TVs)
1 WD 1tb USB drive
6 year old Windows XP Media Center Edition (desktop)
Netgear WNDR3700 router
x3 TrendNet TEG-S80g switches (two switches downstairs and 1 on 2nd floor)

My home network does pretty much all I want/can think off. I can stream all content, movies, videos, pictures etc...from server to all TVs, iphones and iPAD.

Anything I am missing?

Not that I can see, if your doing a simple home media setup, you've got it covered.

Is there anything you want it to do that it isnt doing?

Might as well get a domain controller while you're at it! Make sure it's nice and secure - 60 day rotating passwords - your family will love the security it brings.

Not sure I have a need for a DC. After all, it's just the one desktop and my work laptop. I don't think that warrants login accounts or user/group policies etc.

Some random ideas:
- Networked printer.
- Segregated wireless network.
- Sync local NAS content with offsite backup (Carbonite, etc.)

Was joking. :)

But in all seriousness, how about a VPN server? Then when you're at a remote network where your access is limited, you can regain your freedom.

I've had a VPN server on my home network for ~6 years now. Used it SO MANY times.
