I needed a smaller heatsink, so I ordered a Cryorig M9 Plus. Sadly, I'm having issues installing the backplate. I've installed Coolermaster 212 Evos, Noctua D14/D15's, and Scythe heatsinks all without issue.

Issue happens around here:

My backplate literally does not 'stick' to the motherboard (Asus Maximus V Formula). When I try and screw in the brackets in the front (about 35s on the video), I can easily push down on it, and the entire backplate gives way. Backplate has 'i' (intel) upwards, and the hex screw head is firmly in place.

Am I missing something here? Cause I don't see how the backplate is supposed to be attached to the motherboard.

Oh man, I feel dumb. This is the first time I've seen a backplate that wasn't firmly attached to the board (by design) until *after* screwing in the heatsink component.

Honest mistake now resolved. Nothing to beat yourself up over. We've all done something similar at least once.
