I'm looking for anybody with experience with those flimsy Skylake CPUs and their inelastic properties.

I have in my possession a rather expensive motherboard, with a broken CPU mounted in it.

Socket looks fine, but obviously the board won't POST with this CPU (tested before disassembly).

I have a spare CPU, but I don't want to kill two birds with one brick(ed motherboard).

Has anybody broken their CPU / dealt with one? What was the outcome - Did you have to replace your motherboard? Did everything work OK afterwards?

Anecdotal evidence is OK, I'm just looking for a consensus.

I put too much stress on my cpu when I was assembling it and the computer wouldn't post.

I took it out and examined it, and noticed the edges were bent... :(

So... I put it against a flat counter edge and applied force until it was straight again.

It has run solid ever since!
