I have a Seagate 1TB drive which has a bunch (100) of reallocated sectors (before we stopped using it), but seatools thinks it is swell.

I don't trust the drive at all anymore, so I want to increase the reallocated count so I can get an RMA. Does anyone have any good suggestions?

Put it next to your cars alternator and rev your engine. ha ha, doubt that would create enough EM.... but would be fun to try. Seagate will take it back, if they give you shit call back and get a different rep or yell at them and ask for a manager.

Just do the process online and you don't need to talk to anyone. It's quicker anyway.

connect to USB adapter.
While drive is spinning, slam it on the desk
