im assuming these were ordered off aliexpress? did you get a working tracking number?

i tried ordering some from there, and it was obvious the seller didn't have them ready to ship. they gave me a DHL tracking number that didn't work, because aliexpress requires the seller ship within 5 days of receiving a payment. after about two weeks i opened a dispute and my money was refunded.

You might also want to mention you'd be shipping from EU, which I don't think is where most people here are from. And shipping them to me and then me reshipping them to everyone would simply raise the price too much.

Sidenote: I find it a little fishy that BOTH users (cryspyjohn and now Maevy) who came into the thread to offer cheaper risers PM'd me after they posted to see if I wanted to "team-up" even though the prices they'd be offering would almost certainly be more. :confused:

The thing is i dont want to send small packages to ppl in the US, i would rather have one guy in the US to send 100-500 items (around 4-5 days shipping) which could then then send them to the rest of you.

Anyway just a suggestion, my gain from this would be lowered prices even more since my profit is better selling in the EU.

bumping the thread for the OP :) The current standby list? are those people who have already paid, hence if I put in an order for 3, just wondering when the next shipment would come along?. I don';t have a problem with paying now or soon, just didn't want to pay and then be waiting for 6 weeks.


Also -- it's very fishy that two noobs would pop up here and start trying to thread jack swilling inflated cost risers. The feel I get from the OP is that he's a good guy doing a good thing for the community, and then some vultures from overseas see the thread and attempt to steal away some of his business. Pretty low.
 
Got my risers and accessories today. All looks good and will be able to test them out once I move my cards to my mining rack :D
 
Yea the people I shipped to already paid. I have approximately 30 more here at my house for the standby group. I want to make sure the original buyers get them, they're working, etc and then I'll start going down the stand by list until the rest are gone.

I would do another one, but at this point I don't think it would be worth it since prices seem to be close or the same as what I'm getting, and they're already state side ready to ship. I think videodrone is selling them for less than even I could get them for. ;)

Then I realized it might be the risers :)
It was and I was successful in explaining it as "just some cheap cables I need.." :D

All look great. I should be able to test one out this evening.

Don't trust this piece of shit -- I offered to buy 5 on the spot, instant paypal transfer.

He ignored me and sold them off to someone else long after my original offer. Could offer way more details but dont wanna clutter this thread. Very crappy communication, and hasn't even updated his sale thread showing what he has or doesn't have.

I've talked to a few others here on the forum and gotten confirmation from multiple sources he can be a bit "weird" to deal with.

the videodrone guy is a flake and/or weirdo -- I feel sorry for anyone that gets trapped into dealing with him.

I PM'd him and offered to buy the other 5 remaining after you, but I never heard back from him. Waste of time :-/
 
Alright guys, it sounds like the ones I shipped (including the ones I've tested) are working well. I'm gonna start PMing the standby list in order tomorrow for payment/etc and update the OP til they're gone.

If anyone who I already shipped to has any issues or hasn't tested all your cables/risers, please do so before tomorrow! If you still haven't received the cables, please let me know and I'll allow another day or so on case by case basis.
 
I also got my risers on Saturday. Much thanks. I can now slowly get around to building my second rack of GPUs. Already got rack number one up and operating at 5MH/s. These racks will give me the space to buy another 2-3 GPUs down the line.
 
I received mine yesterday. Look great. I haven't gotten any new GPU yet, but I'm sure they're fine.

Alright, vortec, edge, trilliant (you already sent payment, your good) and xviper, if you're still wanting risers, go ahead and send payment according to the new prices in the original op.

After that, mkhron has rights to the rest of what I'll have left (at this point it looks like it'll be 7 risers....minus what I'm holding for exchanges and depending on if the above guys are still wanting them). If I have anymore after that, I'll certainly pass them on.

Thanks Bonksnp! I ended up needing a few more, and found the extra on Buy It Now on ebay for just under $12/ea shipped. They are indeed coming down a bit. Look to be very similar to the ones we purchased on here, if not identical.

Received my risers and attempted my new rig with a new ASRock BTC board. I had some issues using multiple PSUs in a prior build, but was starting from scratch here, along with these new risers.

I managed to kill this brand new board, using only the one PSU. I thought there is a chance this could be riser-related, but I really don't know. When I added the 3rd GPU, it powered on for about 1/2 second and shut down...never starting again. Also want to reiterate that I had no intentions of mining with those 3 cards on that one PSU, but I thought it would have no troubles booting just to check the hardware and riser. Thoughts?

Could it be bad riser? Bad molex connector? Bad board or PCI-e slot?

That doesn't make sense. it shouldn't have killed the board.
unplug the psu from everything, grab a multimeter, turn the psu on by shorting the green to black, and test the voltages on the rails

see what the voltages are.
if they're okay, Then plug in one gpu & mobo, (leave other two unplugged), see if it boots.

BTW, I still have about 10 of these if anyone else wants them. I believe I've contacted everyone who was on the waiting list.
