Racing checkers and rubber grip FTW! It looks like the charging unit's been tinged blue as well. (thank heavens)

I do believe that's the first GOOD LOOKING mouse I've ever seen. Now where's my exta buttons Logitech?!!? And what gamer in their right mind would ever say, "This mouse has too many buttons."...eh? Please! Point me to your survey's Logitech, I want you to know we LIKED the buttons!

hmm, me too!, i wonder if we can trade in ours for the new ones...

this mouse will match my carbon fiber hood on my accord.

Yeah I drop my mouse alot I might need that...how has it been tested in dropage anyway?

lol, Type R stickers, hehehe...

i don't think they made the carbon fiber shell for protection from dropping your mouse.

wt hell are u doing dropping your mouse, get your other hand on the keyboard... porn..lol

I'm not so excited about the look, but I do like the grip, to reiterate the OP: any news on when it will be released!?

Well, I've since used the g7 and was thoroughly disappointed with the lack of a forward button. MX518's been great anyway. :p

Logitech seriously needs to get their act together and REDESIGN the shitty hand design; they've been rehashing different products with the exact/95% similar hand shape for almost 4 years now.

it's not shitty actually. :)

I like the MX1000 design better than the older MX700 that they have been using for the G5/7 though.

Well, yeah, I agree that was a bit harsh (read subjective opinion), but, nevertheless, IMO, the design was enough to ruin my hand. It's why I use a Copperhead right now.

Either way, doesn't it get boring using the same old hand design for that long? Innovate, Logitech, for crying out loud!!! Do that, fix the scroll wheel, and add accelerated scrolling. Then we can talk.

They were innovating until the G series....they kept adding more buttons :p

I really like my MX1000 outside of the fact that it doesn't work well with certain USB controllers which cause a jumpy cursor. I wish the MX1000 came in carbon fiber. I used to like my MX700 alot though, I guess I might have to give the G7 a try.

that is freaking hideous.

nothing is more tacky than fake, plasticized carbon fiber. on cars, planes, trains, and mice.

I just got mine today.

To me, it doesn't look bad at all. It goes with my blue/black/silver theme very well. To me, it's much better than the green.

The sides are also textured like the G5 for more grip.

So far, the performance has been excellent. I haven't had any lag so far and it seems to be fine like my MX-518 that I love. It's going to take a little time getting used to the extra weight (barely any difference, but it's noticible to me in games). So far it has been excellent and I've been very happy with my purchase. :)

The only gripe is the side buttons, but the tilt wheel makes it up for me in my opinion.

I can take some pictures if you want me to.

The Strongest, Lightest, most Aerodynamic mouse ever... Great pictures!

NewEgg Exclusive bit is interesting/ concerning(?). I've always associated The Fibre with extreme-high-end applications such as F1, NASA, USAF, sportscars. After Honda aftermarketers got ahold of the cheap stuff, the carbon fibre image turned gaudy even up there with your sisters' chrome, strobing-LED rear view mirror.

Logitech has some weird gaming-series design choices [MX518's 'Liquid-Metal-Decay', G5 'Orange-Shade', and G7 Green color schemes] but I think the pseudo carbon fibre G7 is a relative winner. But who the hell am I.

$65 dollars!

Man these mice aren't that much better, these "gaming" perhiperhals are getting out of hand

Still no second button...
i hate that too, i doubt i'll ever upgrade from my MX518. hopefully it's not the last kind they release with 2 side buttons

MX1000 has two side buttons, is wireless, and is more ergonomic. :)

It works for me because it's almost the same weight as my MX-518 and wireless. So far, I haven't experienced any lag. (I never did with my old MX700, but it weighed a lot more) It's great for my laptop because the wireless reciever is a small USB stick. I can use it anywhere without the base of other wireless mice (like the base of the MX1000 or MX700).

Granted, I love my MX-518. I liked the style and the performance. I just saw this released and it looked great and from reading the reviews, it was a real winner. I thought I would bite the bullet and try it out. :)

I've already gotten used to not having the second side button. I just configure my controls to the tilt-wheel and use the side button for Ventrillo. (I used the second side button for "drop" in CS:S so it wasn't a large factor in my config and play style, others might have different views about this though.)

Here are some pictures of the USB reciever.

If the MX1000 had the reciever like this and quick removeable batteries like the G7, I probably would have bought that. (The MX1000 Bluetooth's reciever is similar to the G7's, but you have to purchase the MX5000 desktop set and I'm not sure about the performance of the Bluetooth) I like the shape of the MX500/700 series still though. It's comfortable to me and I'm used to it.

umm, riced out cf mouse..... oh shit why did logitech make thise. *stares at his mx310..sigh....* All of a sudden my mouse looks really old. Being stubborn and not wanting to upgrade my mouse for so long, this thing has finally given me a reason to upgrade my stupid mouse. The thing looks downright ugly now after comparing the carbon fiber g7 to it. Probably get it after my next paycheck... bastards at logitech finally called out to me

Yeah the G7 USB reciever is really neat, but IMO the MX1000 batteries are better than the G7's. Don't have to swap them out, and I guess they last longer too.

Anyone with any ideas on why it's currently NewEgg exclusive? And no announcements, not on Logitech site? I could really care less, but still it's interesting and I like conspiracies. I actually bought one anyway - upgrade to a worn out mX310.

I guess it's the same thing as with the G5 Special Edition.
