Any downsides using a marvel 6GB/s controller?

Turns out I am out of Intel SATA ports. I can plug this new Seagate 4TB into a marvel port. Any performance loss?

You should be good to go. Most people complain about the benchmark numbers when using Marvel controllers with their shiny new SSD drives, so we generally say not to plug your SSD drive into those controllers expecting full 6Gbps benchmark numbers.

This. If you're unfortunate like me where you only have Intel 3Gbps chipset and Marvel 6Gbps chipset on your MOBO you're kinda screwed. Get nowhere close to 520/440Mbps read/write on my SSD.
