There will not be any dual socket AM4 systems. Naples will have dual socket options from 8C / 16T to 32C / 64T CPUs.

Now that time has passed. With Ryzen 1700s being cheaper than ever, the thought of a dual socket AM4 board is compelling.

For instance such a build would undercut Threadripper.

-$250-$350 dual socket am4 mb
-$200-$275 1700
-$200-$275 1700

(Even cheaper at microcenter where the 1700 is selling for $200)

I'd be a niche usecase, but it sure would have been neat if it had existed. I'm sure the latencies would have been even worse, but there are ways to work around that.

I think the real solution here would be to see some threadripper price cuts and perhaps some cheaper motherboards if possible.
