I remember reading about this and came upon some nvidia quadro slides about it. Basically there are two versions of their multimonitor SLI. One is the regular "you have two cards in your system, 4 outputs" with SLI rendering off that any dual-output card combination can do, and the other requires specialized drivers and applications (ie CAD) to allow you to stretch/span a program across multiple monitors. But for the rest of us who want to game on one monitor with SLI and run a 2d app on the other(s), nothing exists (besides adding a 3rd non-nvidia card).

Well, it's cooled with a thermal pad jsut as the ram is... So, it doesn't generate much heat
