No Q dessert name. Google claims they are no longer naming Android desserts. But we'll see if they go back to a name with R.

OnePlus 7/7 Pro has open beta. However, the data will be wiped if you return to the stable channel.

Got it a couple hours ago. On my Pixel 2 it's barely noticeable as different. The Google bar and my folders are dark now, app suggestions are re-enabled, and I can no longer change my icon shapes. There's also a long string of characters next to the shade pull-down for some reason. Notification fonts are also a little different. Dark mode is lost on me, so I'll never notice or care.
In the last week some sort of non-core OS update cause my battery to absolutely hemorrhage, so I guess I'm hopeful this fixed that.

I'm in just for dark mode. Ha. I would like more accent color choices, but I like having the option without having to root.

Icon shape option is in the developer options list.

Is there any way to bring the white Google bar and folder backgrounds back? Right now it feels like my home screen is in dark mode, but nothing else is.

Still manually checking every hour. Still not showing as available for my 3XL or OP 7 Pro. :(

Does it fix the Pixels issue with not telling you about voicemails?

Why does that matter? It’s been an issue since the first series of Pixels. My first one did it and my Pixel 3 does it.

Problem is found on Pixels with T-mobile, Sprint, Verizon carriers. I was being facetious with my post. I’ve already found a fix

Yeah, for some. I took my first Pixel back in to my provider and that’s when they told me about it. They never could fix it and and I never got it to work either. Always had to manually check if I had voicemails or not.

My Pixel 3 has the same issue, different provider than the last one. They too couldn’t fix it. I found a workaround. Love the phone, just didn’t like that little quirk.

Glad I have another year on my og Pixel.
Feels good, not anything Earth shattering besides not having to buy a replacement phone until next year.

Got it last night on my 2 XL. Wanted to try the gesture nav, but it's not compatible with Nova Launcher, so I'll have to wait until they update it before trying it. Dark mode is the best part so far. Otherwise it's been good and performance is about the same (which is still good). Battery life is (still) good so far too.

Not sure if it's just the player I'm using (Poweramp) or Android 10, but the notifications for music are more robust. There are now play controls with the shade dropdown and it shows song info on the lock screen now.

Now that I've had it for a day or so, the only annoyances so far are that it doesn't show battery percentage when you pull the notification shade down anymore (only when you peek at it) when you have full screen content on the phone (like in a game I play a lot). I have a habit of using the rear fingerprint scanner to pull the notification shade down while I'm gaming or in full screen video just to check battery and notifications and now it only shows me a time estimate of when the battery will die instead of the current percentage.

Also, it's weird that they put the OS build number at the bottom of the notification shade too when you fully expand it. How did they figure that would be appropriate.. it seems like a forgotten beta element they didn't remove from the final build, I never ran the beta though so not even sure that was there in the betas.

I'm glad the somewhat fixed the BT menu too so I don't have to go into another sub-menu just to find paired devices to connect to.. at least for the last 3 BT devices, else then I do still have to do that. Better UI than Pie, but not as good as Oreo still IMO. Was hoping they would bring back WiFI/BT management in the notification shade too like in Nougat/Oreo, but I knew that wasn't happening from the betas too. Wish I could center the clock too.

I guess since I'm using Nova Launcher, somehow that affects the multitasking UI too, because I can't select text from within apps/pictures like you're supposed to be able to do from the multitask menu. Holding in on text or anything triggers the haptics, but no UI response for me.

I was wondering about that and discovered that it's tied to having developer options enabled. If you disable DO, the OS version number disappears from the shade. I can't go back to the long animation times enabled by default, so I've just learned to live with it.

Ahh, ok. Yeah, I like my animations at .5x speed too, so guess I'll have to live with it as well. There's also a couple apps I have to force GPU rendering on for them to be responsive enough.

Upgraded my Pixel XL2 this morning and the battery life has been amazing.

Only problem so far is that calls take forever to connect. Literally a minute +

My gf has been pleased with improved batt life on her Pixel XL.
Anything that pauses replacing her phone for another year is more than welcome.

The og pixel wasn't supposed to be supported this long, so I'm stoked.

No, both of our phones upgraded fine.
The usual app upgrade deal was in the background.
This is the fastest, least drama Android upgrade I've had and I go back to the G1.

Both of our phones OTA upgraded day of release.
She's on ATT, I'm on FI.
We hit upgrade from settings menu and it fired off.

Worst comes to worst you shoot a backup, manually format your partitions leaving user part alone, and flash new IMG.

I love dark mode on everything, we are a step closer.

I like the gesture navigation option they added (you have to change it in settings). Having a gesture for back instead of reaching for the button is amazing.

The only app I have that doesn't work properly so far is my bank's... The mobile payment feature crashes. I re-installed and now I can't setup any cards, just says the service is unavailable. It worked literally an hour before updating to 10, so I'm confident that the update is to blame...

I'd be concerned about my bank not putting time in.

Mobile Dev can be a grind, but there's a reason why I blackhole financial institution contracts.

After 24 hours with Android 10, everything about my 3XL performs better except battery life. It's actually worse and it pretty much sucked before the update.

Almost a week in on my Essential PH1, no real performance changes to note, but I do like the new privacy controls and the ability to put the entire OS in dark mode.

Updated the wives Pixel 3 and my 2XL as well as the kids P2's to 10. I had zero issues. Phone runs smoother apps open faster. Wife could not make calls (verizon) Stumbled onto an article researching the issue. Uninstall My Verizon app and reinstall all issues are fixed. Neither of us have sensor issues. Facial recognition on my 2XL is now not working though.

For my Pixel 2 XL, I found the location settings and noticed a large number of apps was set to always use location settings. I set all but two to only use location settings when using the app or I just denied it completely. After changing this I saw a noticeable improvement to battery life, maybe give it a try to see if it helps.

I'm noticing much more aggressive memory management on my 2 XL now; most apps are being killed from memory immediately after switching from them which def wasn't the case on Pie. I'm also getting launcher redraws frequently which very rarely happened before (if ever). Battery life might be slightly worse for me overall too even after enabling battery optimization on every app that I could and restricting background usage on them too, but I'll have to check out the location settings as well as mentioned above.

I was just checking to see if any other phones are getting updated. I just found the news that TMobile is finally updating the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active from 7.0 to 9.0 today...

Friends don't let friends drive drunk. Friends also shouldn't let friends carry a Samsung. This is pretty pathetic.

Right? I'm really going to miss my Essential when it goes. It's probably the closest thing to a (near) flagship Nexus these days.

Just want to reiterate this to see if anyone else noticed it. I can't even listen to music and use Chrome at the same time right now without it killing my music, then I get launcher redraw when I go home to restart it from the widget. This is stupid.

Memory usage in the dev settings says Android OS is using 1.2-1.3 GB alone, with Android System next in line at almost 300 MB (292), Play Services at 230 MB, then most other stuff under 100 MB.

You enabled battery optimization on every app? That is what that does. Kill it when it's in the background.

That's only for apps not currently being used and I had the same setup in Pie with no issues. There are/were only like two apps that I exempted from optimization. I never had launcher redraws on Pie, music never got killed, and the last few apps always stayed in memory. That's not the case now.

Ah. Makes sense. It always kills amazon music for me even with optimization turned off so I feel ya. Lol
