Andriod TV network apps.? (not OTA channels)

Like the Watch Food Network app., do you need a sat./cable sub. to watch a channel through a app. that you wouldn't get on basic tv... Surly there is a way to pay for it without a cable.sat sub right?

Depends on the channel/app. Most are only available to users with a subscription (ie: cable to SAT package which includes the channel). A few offer free content, such as what you can already get on their website.
