I'll repeat it again. Chipset revenue from people who would otherwise just upgrade their CPU is MINISCULE. It's a rounding error for Intel and Intel doesn't care. Intel cares about the Dells, HPs, etc. of the world. This point is so blatantly obvious that it is completely shocking to me that it is debatable.
This speaks to my earlier point. Dell, HP, MSI, ASUS etc. are all Intel's customers as much as we are. It creates products that are designed to appeal to OEMs and motherboard manufacturers in order to sell more product. It isn't about us. When we buy motherboards, we are ASUS, ASRock's, GIGABYTE's or MSI's customers. Not Intel's. Intel sold the chipset to the motherboard manufacturer, not us.
