Well i decided to be different and not get a shuttle. I went with a black ams ecube. When i first saw it on newegg i knew it was mine. So i got it and begin modding it.

Specs:
P4 2.8 HT 800fsb
1 gig geil pc3200 at dual channel
Ati 9500 pro
Panasonic slot load CDRW
Crystalfontz 631 lcd
Audigy Gamer soundcard
Zalman 7000 all copper HSF
120g samsung hdd

Mods:
Made a custom faceplate to clean up the front
Repositioned the front IO ports to the back.
Drilled intake holes on the side to cool down the Video card
Added an 80mm fan on the other side
Tinted the side panels
Changed stock Ati hsf to an iceberg 4
Soon it will be watercooled.

Here is a stock pic for those who have never seen an ecube.

That faceplate is badass. The power switch + LCD + Slot Load DVD Player + Bloo gives it a nice look.

Are those buttons to the right of the LCD? If so, how do you get to them?

Thanx for the compliment. I am very proud of my faceplate. Considering this was my first major mod that i did it turned out very clean.

THe buttons to the left of the lcd are not functional yet. Crystalfontz are taking their sweet ass time to come out with a program to incorporate them.

I've got one of these too. Had to put the holes in the side like you did to keep it from overheating with a 9700 AIW+p4 3.0G, can keep it cool now, just noisy as hell. It is just my lan rig though, so no biggy.

Sorry but no. Im not an overclocker and that is why i didnt mind getting this machine. I would go with a shuttle if you want to oc.

Looks sweet. I've been thinking of getting one myself.

How do you like it? How's the performance? Is it quiet?

I love it. I like the way it looks and that it looks modded straight from the factory. I love the handle because it makes it carrying to LANs so easy. Performance wise its very nice but with no overclockability. Its was quiet when i first got it but then i put that 80mm fan on the side. If i would`ve gone with a 120mm it would be very quiet. Right now I`ve been upgrading my machine and the loudest thing on the machine is the 9800xt and the SATA WD drive. I`m thinking of getting a samsung SATA drive. Samsungs are the quietest drives around.

Nice modded rig, I have the same case (sorta). I have modded mine too.

This is an old Picture, I had the case open all week as I changed it.

Running P4 3.0E
1 GB Ballistix Ram
6600 GT AGP

I love the face plate you made. I applied a Police Interceptor sticker on the front of mine and have all those red and blue lights. The floppy drive location is a red LED Ram strip.
