AMD will be reportedly release the Radeon RX 6600 (non XT) on 10/13. Performance on par with RTX 3060, MSRP of $299.

Unfortunately gamers hopeful to get a new GPU may have to keep waiting because it will reportedly have the same ETH mining performance as the 6600 XT, but at less power and a lower price, which will make it extremely attractive to miners. Enjoy!

I wonder what actual pricing will be like. mining performance of the 6600 xt is fairly close to the old RX 580s with a bit less power draw. Price will probably be whatever the retailers want to sell them for....

I can supposedly order 6600 XT’s for about $700 CAD which isn’t huge above MSRP, but I haven’t tried to actually order any, I mean just because they are listed means very little towards actual arrival dates.

I got a 6600 xt to my door for $640 USD...that was from newegg, so I guess MSRP. Seems steep.

The 6600 Non-XTs have hit Newegg early, and are priced exactly the same as the 6600 XTs. One example. https://www.newegg.com/sapphire-radeon-rx-6600-11310-01-20g/p/N82E16814202409

AMD's AIBs are outpacing Nvidia's as most aggressive when it comes to setting pricing on new models of GPUs near scalper pricing out of the gate. Or quickly ratcheting up pricing by steps of $20-40 per week. (I.e all 6600 XTs that launched at $399 are mostly $459-549)

The only lesson here is the reinforcement of the fact there are no good guys in this filthy, filthy business. Except maybe and arguably EVGA.

My EVGA queue notification finally came a year after I signed up. I wasn't paying attention to my e-mail in the middle of the night on a Friday and missed my purchase window over the weekend. Sad times, but I still love EVGA.

Eh, email EVGA support and explain this to them and they usually provide a new buy link

Nah, EVGA will only let you que to buy a card if it's high end. No love for people with smaller budgets.

At the actual MSRP, this would be a great card. The article indicates "up to 8GB" of VRAM. If it comes with less, then it would be underwhelming.

I gave it a shot with all the 329$ cards, I fully expect nothing to come from it.

Hold on little 7950 just a little bit further before you can rest...

same. at 329.99 why not. Can either use it for 1080p gaming and let my 1080ti mine or make it a mining card.

I like the power usage. I'm not sure I'd use it before a 3060, since they like to play rtx minecraft. However, I do like it.

If nothing else the 6600 is a beast 120W card. The 3060 uses an absurd amount of power.
The 3060 is also trying to power 50% more, higher-speed VRAM, isn't it? Based on some of the reviews that I've watched, it sounded like the decision to go with 14 Gbps GDDR6 instead of 16 Gbps resulted in a lot of power savings for the 6600 non-XT compared to the XT version.

Yes you can see the result of this in performance comparisons as well.
The 3060 is about 3-5% faster at 1080p, 10-15% faster at 1440p, and up to 20% faster at 4K.

The gimpy 8GB of slow VRAM indicates the 6600 is targeting 1080p only.

I have an RTX 3060 and it can run a lot of games (mostly older) at 4K high refresh. Even Cyberpunk 2077 I can get 4K60 with low settings DLSS performance.

Assuming "Performance Mode" is actually rendered at 720p, I don't think it benefits from the 4K performance advantage. If anything, the 6600 would do even better than 1080p with that mode, since the gap gets smaller as resolution goes down. I haven't looked at enough DLSS benchmarks to know for sure, though.

Since the 6600 doesn't support DLSS in the first place, we'd have to look at FSR since both cards can use that.

It doesn't really matter anyway. The 3060 and 6600 have the same MSRP, if they end up with the same gouged prices ($500+) then there isn't much of a reason to buy the 6600. Just get a 3060, if possible, and be done with it. The 6600 is basically just an alternative if you're desperate. AMD knows that too, probably.

On Ebay, 2060 Supers are currently selling at the same price as 6600's. Just buy one of those.

Where was this two weeks ago? I just bought an old RX 480 8GB to get me by until I can get what I really want.
