AMD Ryzen Threadripper XSPC RayStorm Neo Waterblock Unboxing

I don't normally like XSPC blocks, but that looks really nice. ..

Looks like that thing is raw copper... Isn't your Koolance Exos using an Aluminum radiator?

Wow at the razor blade test. I've had some warped ones in my life, but that's just beautiful.

Hey, I tried. I have no bad blood with those guys and would have loved to get my hands on their block as well. Telling me I have to give them free advertising to get a sample block is pretty shitty though.

Anyway, back on topic. :)

off topic, Wouldn't you just using it be free advertising? I wonder how well koolance have done with you - Like what CPU haven't seen that koolance block of those you've had?
Yep. But Koolance gave us unwavering support for years and years. The fact is the EK gets tons of discussion in our forums, so our business already gets used to "promote" its products. When I asked for a TR block, they told me that they would not send me one because I did not post all the press releases it sends us on our news page. (If I posted all the PRs I get on the news page, it would not be anything other than a free PR page. And advertising is our business model.)

Here is what they sent me in its entirety....

EK denied HardOCP a sample since we do not put all its PR spam on our news page giving EK free advertising. So when you guys come asking for EK results, you will need to discuss that with EK.

Hello HardNews,
I see that you requested a water block sample for testing, and I see that you are getting the newsletters, but I see no EK news posted on the web page....

And we have sent out quite a few samples for far to close partners and medias, so for now, we are not sending out new samples.

BR,
Atila

NOW, let's get back on topic.....please. This thread is about the block, not about the block we do not have. :)

Getting close to that buy system moment.... can't wait to see results!

That jet plate with 3 slots is intriguing. Are they trying to stall flow a little bit in the middle to force more flow over the actual cores? Eager to see test results.

And Kyle, on a surface covered in anti-skid foam, please keep that OPEN hobby knife free of the work area? I cringed a few places, if I'm honest. You're broken enough for the moment. :hurting:

I can't wait to see the results. I'm betting you'll hit a hard ceiling of 4.2 though.

I was so hoping for at least 4.1GHz stable since they using the top 5%.

4.0 GHz on 16c/32t is still damn impressive, especially when running up against Intel's offerings for the same money.
