You guys test out Hardware Scheduling yet? Just curious. I think I got it enabled on my rig now.

"AMD today released its first public beta driver that enables graphics hardware scheduling feature support with Windows 10 May 2020 Update (version 2004). This oddball release has the same version number as the previous-release, version 20.5.1 Beta, but with graphics hardware scheduling retrofitted. The driver hence ships with the version name "Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.5.1 Beta with Graphics Hardware Scheduling." This Microsoft-supplied feature allows GPU hardware to better manage its resources, and potentially improve performance in certain applications. Currently, only AMD's RDNA-based Radeon RX 5600-series and RX 5700-series GPUs support graphics hardware scheduling - not even the RX 5500-series gets it; older generation AMD GPUs, such as the RX Vega series lack it, too."

Nope, my hardware is thus far not supported. Interested in benchmarks if anyone has some though. Seemed to help some with nvidia cards in some games and make no difference in others. Assuming it'll be similar for AMD. I wish they wouldn't just post it was released and leave it at that, maybe a couple of benchmarks to show it in action before having their readers download would be nice? :). That'd be asking to much of current day 'journalism' though.

ps. Very prelim from a different forum member:

Basically shows minimal difference in the tests he performed (only tested like 3 things) slight increase in one but mostly a wash and/or margin of error. Much to be expected.

I haven't noticed any difference on or off in Hunt:Showdown on my 5700xt with all eye candy settings maxed/on using VSR to run 1440p on my older ASUS 144hz 24" 1ms 1080p primary monitor

Following last week’s release of NVIDIA’s first Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling-enabled video card driver, AMD this week has stepped up to the plate to do the same. The Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.5.1 Beta with Graphics Hardware Scheduling driver (version 20.10.17.04) has been posted to AMD’s website, and as the name says on the tin, the driver offers support for Windows 10’s new hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling technology.

As a quick refresher, hardware acceleration for GPU scheduling was added to the Windows display driver stack with WDDM 2.7 (shipping in Win10 2004). And, as alluded to by the name, it allows GPUs to more directly manage their VRAM. Traditionally Windows itself has done a lot of the VRAM management for GPUs, so this is a distinctive change in matters.
