Sorry, I wasn't blaming AMD, I was blaming the shitastic OEM's who treat their laptops like they treat their Android Cell phones.

There did exist work arounds, in the end they weren't worth the time, especially with the possibility of needing to revert back to a stock install.
 
I never had any issue with my lenovo yoga 11s the intel support assistant alway finds and installs the latest intel graphic drivers....and this is a win 8.1 2013 2 in 1
