The have dropped the prices on the dual core processors! Just ordered and paid for a 3800 x2 939 at an incredible price of $246(Aus). This is down from ~$430.

Only shipping on the 24th though.

All prices are Australian prices!
939 A64 3800 $196
AM2 X2 3800 $235
939 X2 3800 $246
939 X2 4200 $296
AM2 X2 4200 $296
939 X2 4600 $378
AM2 X2 4600 $378
AM2 X2 5000 $466 (No Firm ETA)
AM2 FX-62 $1258

Good shit indeed.

That puts use Americans at a disadvantage cuz now I have to look up the conversion factor. There are like 5 aussies on HF, and thousands of Americans. Convert! lol

P.S. 246 AUD = $184.1064 US as of Jul 17

they also have dropped in the UK. the 3800+ x2 AM2 from OcUK is at £109.95

but the socket 939 ones are still the same price here in the uk :(

wow i just relised the fx-51 is $400 now. Not bad considering it use to cost over a grand

Nice prices, 246 Australian dollars is around £101 here in the UK. That is a damn good deal. Wish I'd waited a couple of months.

yea and that sucks, i think its cause they are end of life so and AMD want as many to move to AM2 so why reduce the cost of a end of life CPU

Yeah, can't quite figure that out. Hopefully the 939 X2's should fall in price on the 23rd July, here the UK.

Can't wait for it to drop here in the USA. I'd love to play around with DDR2 and an X2 3800.

theyre only dropping the prices on the ones with 512k l2 cache cos its cheaper to produce so im sorry but the 4400 wont be dropping in price :(

Thats the only thing that sucks. if they dropped the prices of the 2x1MB, that would be sweet....so sweet, I think they they could produce them fast enough :p just like when the optys first came out

If AMD wants buyers to buy their X2 or Opteron while Conroe is out. They should be around no more than $200 for top of the line X2.

Price drop happened at Monarch Computer already for their combos...

939dual-SATA 2 and Freezer 64 pro will be here tomorrow.

Now, if the x2 4600's get that low, I'm in it. I hope they lower 939, as the simple fact is, I think it is probably the most popular enthusiast platform now. If not, theres always the 3500 venice core, as anything is an upgrade from my 2500 barton :D

fuck.i brought my X2 3800+ for 430 in the beginning of the month. i should have waited another month before buying it, since i waited 2 years for a new comp anyway. damn it. could have halved the price and brought a better one instead. damn.

THe price cut table certainly implies s939 are getting cuts the same as am2, although I am a little worried about it . . . I'm UK also, but am hoping places like scan.co.uk will get some good price cuts.

Something has to happen to the 4400+ price. Who in their right mind will pay $437 for a 4400+ when they can get a 4600+ for $224? Unless they just want to eat the thousands of 4400+'s sitting in warehouses.

They aren't going to be making 1meg parts anymore, so the 4800, 4400, and 4000 are the ones being phased out. I'm assuming you'll see them for lower than they are now, but I doubt they'll go too low as AMD won't be supplying them.

Any idea's when Newegg will adopt these price drops? Probably on monday, right?
