Nice build. I like the size. Watch your wattage and VRM temps if you push that 5960x. Mine pulls > 300W at about 4.6Ghz/1.37V.

Maybe put a beer by it for size reference. :)

Looks like a DP to HDMI dongle. The one AMD promised to make?

We should be happy that AMD dropped the ball and is now (months later) fixing an issue they should have never made in the first place? It's no wonder their market share is dropping like a rock and shows no signs of recovery...

I was laughing all the way through, you fiddling with the zoom in and out and going out of focus repeatedly so funny ;) .

The mod looks very nice. Can you say something more about BF4 performance (DX11/Mantle)?

As far as I am concerned HDMI 2 on the Nano would be wasted space, extra unneeded cost. Just my viewpoint.

If I bought a 4K monitor, it would have to have FreeSync on it - meaning most likely DP1.2. Not sure about HDMI 2 can do FreeSync or if an adapter is used to convert 1.2DP to HDMI 2.

Having FreeSync on 4K would help a lot with lower frame rates due to the resolution of the monitor.

Now since Nvidia has that option, one can just buy that product if they really needed HDMI 2 - except 980Ti or Titan X if one expects adequate performance at 4K, no Gsync or FreeSync. With any needed case size, power supply and cooling increase as needed.

The dongle is made by Club3D, not AMD.

So the Nano can put out 4K 60Hz...... via DP adapter to HDMI 2.0

The title had me a little mislead. I was thinking the Nano somehow had HDMI 2.0 built in, when I saw it was just an adapter I was a tad disappointed. Good to see they have a working adapter almost ready though. I'm just slightly scared to see how much it's going to cost.

Awesome work on the case mod though, that thing is freaking sweet!

Pray the hdmi adaptor doesn't go the way of the mst display port hubs, I'm not sure if they ever came to market though they were advertised around the launch of the 5870 iirc.

Interesting that monitors have multi stream capability but those hubs was virtually vapor ware. My monitor has multi stream capability which I would need if I bought another DP monitor since my 290x only has one DP output. Dell curved 3440x1440.

Why so much excitement over a dongle/band-aid?

    It was inevitable.

As for the TV, Vizio's 2014 P series and 2015 M series all use the older Silicon Image chipsets and do not support 4:4:4 chroma at 4K/60Hz. They only supports 4K60 at 4:2:0 chroma.

Even Nvidia Kepler GPUs were been capable of 4:2:0 4K60 via HDMI 1.4 ports using a custom resolution profile. Unless we can see 4K60 at 4:4:4 with this Nano all we are able to ascertain is AMD has finally arrived at the year 2013.

Probably because some people who were complaining earlier that they would not buy a card without HDMI 2.0 support?

If you havenĀ“t noticed it yet, these forums have a lot of people who like to vomit all over others at every chance they get while guarding their precious BRAND for justice.

Hey, is it just me, or is that TV frameskipping like crazy? It seems to be running 30hz, dude.

    Edit:

Black dot in the centre of white dots on the same camera exposure? yeah, its frame skipping.

Like it or not, HDMI 2.0 is the standard for a 4K HTPC which is what AMD probably should have been marketing this card toward. For people with a monitor it doesn't matter at all but almost everyone not playing on a TV has the room for a mid tower which the Nano is not the market for (Fury X).

A compact, top of the line card with HDMI 2.0 would have been something OEMs could have gone insane with. Imagine something about the size of a Wii U with an external PSU pushing a Nano (hoping the Nintendo NX is something just like this).

Hopefully next gen we will see some crazy HTPC stuff when all cards should have HDMI 2.0 and HBM support.

    why bother.

4K60hz are such a tiny market segment, it doesnt make business sence to waste the silicon realestate, added BOM, and general engineering overhead.
