So I have seen a few of these chips on ebay but can't really find them anywhere else. I am wondering why these 8 core chips are so uncommon as they seem to fit the bill for some work I am doing. I run a bot farm(nothing illegal) among other heavily multithreaded applications and a ton of instances of an app that causes hyper threading to not be so hot.

I am wondering what a fair price for them and board as I am trying to keep this as cheap as possibly these will be headless units.

My bet why they are uncommon is they would most likely be sold at a loss or very little profit by AMD. The 8 core bulldozer is an expensive chip to make. Although at 95W TDP they may be able to charge the same price as an 8120 for the 8100.

I've not checked but I would assume a chip for some of the OEM's?
Can't see any other reason for it myself.
The new PD models should offer an improved 8120 model with a lower 95w TDP. If that is accurate it should be great for overclocking.
