AMD Debuts Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 Powered by RDNA 4, and FSR 4

GOW Ragnarok definitely looks really good with FSR 4 on, I have bad vision so it looks basically the same as native to my naked eye (I wear glasses and my prescription is likely out of date, I'd give myself like 20/40 vision at best and I have an astigmatism). Guess I'll finally play through it. Card seems quiet, I'll have to get temps on it but it's 65 F here right now and I have the windows open so I would expect it to be cool.

Ran it with FSR 4 Native and Quality, looked the same running on my neo g7. I'll have to test my oled later.

My XT scored 7283 on 3DMark Steel Nomad dx12

5700X3D (stock)

I'll eventually try tweaking things to see how much I can improve it, I just haven't got around to it. I'm on PCIe Gen3 with no tweaking and finished middle of the pack so I'll take it.

Or one of these.

supposedly, i havent watched them yet though.

link to the injector:
Ran this tutorial tonight, couldn't get itcto work correctly. I saw an option to choose my upscaler and it eas FSR 3.1.something and FSR 2, no FSR 4 option available. I used the latest daily build, nothing.

Probably a detection issue:

Workaround:
With latest nightly FSR4 will be enabled when a RDNA4 card detected.
If detection fails, FSR4 can be manually enabled by setting Fsr4Update=true in OptiScaler.ini file.

While nice in the "mine is bigger than yours" mindset. Game developers aren't going to create product that only works on USD$2000+ cards. That would be a huge mistake. I sort of like AMD doing this "bridge" until they can rip up and rewrite their GPU. Noting, they may decide to not go that way?? There's an argument for better AMD AI integration with regards to "what's out there". They may defer on "better GPU" for the risky promise of AI fortunes.
1440p is going to supplant 1080p soon. 4k will eventually supplant 1440p. More horsepower will be required. Maybe that will be the 10070? But AMD can't let Nvidia just eat the high end forever.

Well, certainly things will evolve. But right now AMD just played a huge card in their favor. Nvidia's <5090 cards work, but are trash value wise. The 5090 is arguably bad value too, but it stands alone, so one can argue infinite value.

Nvidia's supply control might be their end in the consumer gaming market. This isn't "long lines" Nvidia.... no more camping out for <5 cards (in many cases, zero cards). Doesn't make sense. A revolution needs to happen. AMD? Maybe. I used to think Intel could be "the one", but they're crapping in their pants. Nvidia might be farting a lot, but the big smell is from Intel right now. AMD, oddly, is smelling really nice. Surprisingly nice.

Of course, now that the 9070 is $100+ more than the MSRP of the 9070xt (sigh).... Intel.... you're our only hope!

LOL!

Maybe a bit rubbing it in, but I got myself a RX 9070 XT yesterday ... Didn´t get it tested before today, but seems like a very solid card (ASUS Prime model, same price as they had at launch, but a little bit over MRSP in my country). :)

Thats the one I want.

Yeah the supply of AMD in relation to their new found capabilities is really looking good for the higher midrange for sure.

Sadly, very short lived. Now the pricing is insane.
GPUs accross the board aren't meeting MSRPs. You can't find a Intel B580 for $200 anywhere. Pricing is starting to be AI regulated. As sales continue to climb the prices are adjusted upwards. We did this to ourselves.

Stock is also hit and miss. Seems that NA, specifically Microcenter is getting the lion's share of the MSRP cards, and they have played that angle extremely well considering that all the tech tubers are still refusing to call out AMD on their MSRP shenanigans.

Credit where credit is due, AMD finally managed to stick the landing much better than they have in years, bravo. But let's not pretend that it's mostly smoke and mirrors.

i didnt think supply was an issue but price was?
Supply is not an issue, if you live in north America somewhere near a microcenter. The rest of the world got the shaft.

Do they not bother putting them on their website, because it seem all sold out in the 6 microcenter store I just made a search for...

I haven’t seen more than a handful, as in 5, 9070xt cards show up on the Sharonville OH Micro Center site since launch. I’ve been checking most days.

Not entirely sure, but the impression that I get is that customers walking into a Microcenter tend to leave with a GPU more often than not.

As I said though, this is just my impression and is more than likely skewed since it's more common for in-person customers to post pics of their successful purchase vs it being more common for online customers to post their frustrations at the lack of success attempting to purchase a GPU online.

I wouldn't gamble a guess as how much these two scenarios might skew my impression though.

Put the adapters in late last night, i think i need to get new corsair cables and rewire my machine. Id rather everything come out of the bottom. Theres enough pressure on the adapters from the cables its making me a little weary so im keeping an eye on it. Ill probably get an adapter that faces the other direction and new cables in a month or so, clean everything and rotate my fans so theyre facing up 😅. Good enough for a stop gap solution, but it still could use some work. Overall I like the card, quiet compared to my AIO.

Sorry should have just PMed ya.
It's all good, I always wind up doing this stuff when my brain is tired and I miss some small details. Probably not the best idea but it's a nice break from work. The last month or so been pure hell, ready for this damn product to be done so I can ship it and go back to a normal 40 hour week.
