Today at the Canalys Channels Forum AMD announced the first PCs featuring 7th Generation AMD PRO APUs (formerly codenamed “Bristol Ridge PRO”). Built for business, AMD PRO APUs deliver increased computing and graphics performance, improved energy efficiency, while providing a secure and stable platform to protect customers’ IT investments. New systems from HP and Lenovo combine commercial-grade quality, performance, and stability, with exceptional video and audio capabilities enabling businesses to achieve more across key areas including productivity, manageability, and collaboration. In addition, Microsoft® Windows® 10 Pro features including Device Guard, Windows Hello, Biometric Security and BitLocker Encryption are fully supported, out of the box.

That's great news! I never thought I'd still be on an Intel system for so long and I'm very eager to go back to the light side with AMD. :)

So, I skimmed the article, typical PR buzzword-filled trash. What ACTUAL information do we have on these processors? are they just standard A-series APUs with longer warranties, or are they actually worth something?

Anyone know when the next-gen FX procs are coming? FX-8320's are good, but it would be nice to see new shit!

I thought FX was dead and will be replaced by Zen next year.

Yeah, you'll see Zen CPUs replace FX parts in 1H17. Which is more likely late June with AMD.

I'd pay a small premium to go with AMD, but they have to bring the performance (and at least decent efficiency) of Intel's flagships, and so far they have failed to come close.

They sure try and copy Intel with everything, and then try a 1 up. So much marketing and PR. So little delivery.

Agnostic CPU support? Ahaha.
