For those who think Nazis or Facist are Left wing didn't pay attention in Gov't, Political Science or History class. The definition of Fascism is authoritative, Ultra-Nationalist, conservative Gov't. The Nazis killed anyone that was not "pure" in their minds; The "Mud Races". They HATED diversity. Who does that sounds like? Conservatives (Trump voters) don't want to be labeled that because they KNOW it is shameful. Just because they put Socialist in their name.....doesn't mean squat. Democratic Republic of North Korea................hmmmmm.

On the other hand, Germany strongly condemns anything related to Nazis. The people that made up and supported the Nazi party. Can't say the same for many of the Democrats that prop up BLM who's claim to fame is murdering random police officers. Nazis aren't a modern problem, but BLM is. Unless you go to prison. I suppose there are a fair amount of Nazi wannabes in prison. LOL.

Really? BLM has never killed or hurt anyone. BLM just want equal justice. Can you say the same for KKK, Neo-Nazis, White Nationalist, and the Trump voters at rallies?

...and anyone who equates the American right to Nazism is equally as shameful. 1920-40 European Fascism is very different to any political party currently in the US. You're either ignorant or an idiot if you believe otherwise, regardless of your American political party of choice (both pretty much suck). There is a big difference between not wanting non-citizens to be able to vote in elections (as San Francisco is doing) and loading your citizens onto cattle cars for the slaughter.

Ironically, ANTIFA and similar groups operate more fascists than socialists. Strong irrational hatred, extreme painting of an entire demographic as the same and purely bad, ect. That is why I never understood that group and always equated them more to European style anarchist / soccer hooligans.

The Dallas shooter was BLM. Many cop killers are BLM but it is fairly rare(a couple a month in a population as large as the USA is fairly insignificant). BLM membership is so large that it is hard to say which actions are in fact committed by an attack planned by it instead of an indoctrinated member snapping and commiting a crime related to the cause. The Vegas shooter was a Bernie supporter along with the guy who shot up the church congregation in Texas and the guy who shot up the congressional baseball charity event pregame practice. The list goes on but it is standard for radical political groups. Take away guns and they will use bombs which usually creates a larger death toll and it is harder to trace so I am glad they are just using guns for the most part. Hate crime hoaxes are fair more common than shootings. The number of mass shootings is actually going down but the media talks about it more than in the past.

Antifa (the far left terrorist organization) commits property damage, attempted homicide, homicide, assault and battery, acid attacks, chemical weapons attacks, arson, communicating a threat, and attacks with urine to name a few. Antifa far outnumbers right wing extremists in the USA and Antifa is present at almost every university campus throughout the USA. Antifa uses encrypted messaging apps to plan attacks. The NSA, FBI, and the DHS track them as best as they can. Grassroots terror groups like Antifa are harder to track than ISIS since they are not as out in the open as ISIS online.

There are at least two major incidents of BLM murdering police officers. In general they seem to be more interested in burning down black communities though (some justice /S). Trump supporters tend to be the victims are rallies. Rocks to the face seems to be a common theme. Can't think of many Trump rallies that were violent had it not been for the anti-Trump protestors but I am sure there are some instances. However the left is much more confrontational these days, and seem to resort to violence much quicker.

Modern problem or not, Nazis committed genocide on an grand scale and were responsible the deaths of millions more. This is a classic false equivalency and why no rational person takes comparing whatever group one doesn't like to Nazis seriously.

Exactly why I can't take the Democrat party (and many of the big news sources) very seriously anymore. I already touched on this a few posts up. "Nazism" would simply be a term relegated to history had it not been for the American left and prison population. BLM is much more of a problem than some dead Germans.

That's a pretty good description of both the left and right these days.

I totally agree. The far right(alt right) and the activist left play the same game of identity politics which is the precursor to genocide. The activist left is just powerful enough to try and pull it off since they have the numbers and funding. The alt right has very small numbers and lacks funding so I do not find them to be as much of a threat. The event in Charlottesville, VA included almost all of the alt right(showing their weak numbers) along with half the crowd just against taking down statues that did not support the alt right in anything but that and free speech.

Yeah, right. Because so many "alt-right" people show up to legally permitted left wing rallies armed with bats, rocks, and balloons of feces. I remember vividly in 2016 when all those white hooded people would show up to Hillary Clinton rallies, just looking for a fight.

You are talking about Antifa which actually received support from prominent DNC members until being classified as a terrorist organization. Sadly, Keith Ellison still promoted one of the handbooks of Antifa in a tweet. This was shortly after he was made #2 at the DNC. It was a book made outlining intimidation and violent tactics to shut down speakers at events and political rallies.

Now I get it. Sort of like how the Sturmabteilung operated in the 1920's and 30's.

I get your parallel. I just see it as the next step after they used Rules for Radicals since the seventies. The Antifa handbook takes the same approach on the social side internally but adds violence and intimidation towards external threats to their cause. This is causing a schism within the left and is weakening it from within.

Except authoritative and conservative don't go together. Just because you think modern right-wingers are racist doesn't compare. Nationalism is non partisan. Racism is non partisan.

Violence and intimidation towards those who do not agree with their viewpoint, just like fascism.

Still plenty of Wolfenstein games on Amazon.
Don't get how left and right views are taken out of historical context to fit any one narrative.

You beat me to it. I imagine this thread will get closed eventually when emotions start flaring up.
But if we are being honest, Leftism is in favor of more government intervention, and Rightism is against government control. Extreme left would be complete control, or fascism. Extreme right would be no government, or anarchy. This gets confusing when each group in the U.S. comes to issues such as police and military, admittedly.
You guys trying to disprove the socialism in the party are missing the point, Fascism is left wing.

Extreme left = Complete control = Facism
Extreme right = No govt = Anarchy

Also, while they were opposed to actual communism, which is what socialism is designed to lead to, look at the actual definition of socialism:
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/socialism
"any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods"

They did take control of several markets, although the difference is that I don't believe it was intended for the fair redistribution of wealth.

I feel the thread closing as I type.
Upper Left is Communism (Pure government control and Pure socialist). Upper Right is Facism or Dictatorship (Pure government control and Pure capitalist). Up is Government Ownership and Down is Anarchy. So extremes in ANY direction are extremely harmful!

Everything else applies some fundamental ideas to a limited scope of issues.

Too be fair, this was not happening in 2016, but is starting to happen now. Look up "The Proud Boys." They seem to target Antifa mostly.

So you recognize a 2d political plane, not a 1 dimensional line? Interesting. Is this from college studies? I would be interested in learning more if you have references.

Capitalism means the free flow of money. There is no such freedom in any socialist, fascist, or communist government. They may embrace certain corporations, but they cannot be capitalist.

"Hey, Hitler, it's all cool that you want lebensraum and all, but I'm not into converting my factory into helping your war machine. No, I think I'll keep making toasters." LOL. Ditto Mussolini and/or Stalin, etc., etc.

There's a lot of "revisionism" going on. Like the whole "democrats and republicans switched sides after the Civil War". Lol. Just look at voting patterns. The Democrats maintained a lock on voting in the South for a long time...before, during, and after the Civil War. It takes a lot of indoctrination to really think that the parties swapped. LOL.

It wasn't until the Civil Rights Act of 1964 that this political shift started, just look at an Electoral Collage map of the 1964 Presidential Election and it's obvious what was going on there.

( controverial thought below: )

well, Nazi Germany was all about big government, but it is the death chambers and death camps for Jews that got the Nazis the reputation.

every other policy has been enacted and carried out by other governments , including those in the West, without much fanfare, time and again.

but there is no chance in mass media and the collective communal dialogue to discuss Nazi Germany this way.

branding something or someone as Nazi, is a very effective way to shut off discourse in mass media.

Baning swastika's is improper. It is a deeply religious symbol in many Asian societies especially India. So they need to be mindful that not ever swastika has anything to do with Nazi's as they are on temples that are 15 times older than the US.
