Too bad the FCC nixed Amazon's drone delivery plans, that would have been a match made in heaven. :D

Amazon has been tipped to launch a local services marketplace this year to rival the likes of Thumbtack, Angie’s List and Yelp. Now one part of that effort looks like it’s about to go live: the company is now rolling out a food takeout service, a direct competitor to GrubHub, Seamless and DeliveryHero.

It'll be great in New York and other big cities but completely useless anywhere else.

FCC? I thought it was the FAA.

It was the FAA, and it wasn't exactly permanetly nixed, more like a clarification of existing regs. Even though Amazon isn't even close to getting the project in the air (heh) they are just pushing for updated rules in the future so they can be ready if and when their remote delivery system is ready for market.

This just a big hydra of a monster that wants to be in a piece of everything or what?

GrubHub exists, I doubt its really THAT profitable but still somewhat. Why the hell is Amazon trying to get into bed with this industry?
