I think he's saying that he's glad it's not the same socket as his existing rig or he'd probably buy it despite not having squeezed his existing CPU for more performance.

i feel like a idiot.. but this is 1150 socket and it doesnt say anywhere that it is..
here is link..

glad its 1150 because i have 1155 2500k that has not even been overclocked yet.. Not sure what overclocking it will speed up with a single 270x atm

If you haven't overclocked that yet you should, you'll see a performace bump. Most 2500k cpus don't even need a voltage adjustment to go to 4.2-4.5 ghz and it won't put any real stress on the cpu. Even with a small voltage bump most 2500ks easily hit 4.8-5.0 ghz.

^ Also waiting on a 4770K deal, otherwise I would've bit despite being on 1155 myself

Not that it would make much of a difference over SB OC / IB OC. Truly waiting for a 4960X deal, but I won't hold my breath :p

Amazon had the 4770k for 280 not too long ago. Hoverhound does not show it though but it was 280 for at least a couple days. I picked it up then as I figured that was as cheap as it would get since I dont live near a Microcenter.

EDIT: I just looked in my Amazon account and it was 279.99 on Feb 19.

Ah yes, sadly that was before I started to put together a new build. At this point I would settle to a $299 deal even.
