Amazing Aurora Borealis Video of the Day

Wow, parts of that would have made for an amazing motion desktop.

It's a shame we don't have that any more.

I guess we'll have to do with baby blocks in Windows 8.
 
DAE notice the "UFO" at 3:25? Starts moving slowly across the sky in the bottom left quadrant of the sky, flashes when viewed through the atmosphere, and gains velocity as it travels from left to right.

If you ignore all the human drama on the surface, the Earth is actually a very beautiful place.

That's another satellite. On a clear night, you can see them in the sky. Looks like moving stars.
 
Just want to point out that the aurora in the video was the Aurora Australis and not as the OP wrote the Aurora Borealis. The difference being that Boreails happens in the Northern hemisphere.

Other than that, the aurora looks not quite as stunning but still very cool from below. I have been living in Alaska for quite a few years now and still stop to look up and watch for a while when its a clear night and the aurora is happening.
