that didnt know that you could change the multiplier on an Athlon XP? DAMNIT!

Oh, and that should be "dammit", not "damnit".

When it's damnit, it comes out dam-nit, which of course makes no sense.

stupid monty python fan ;) your supposed to edit your post, not double post.

btw, a question : is there anything majorly unhealthy about changing a multiplier?

I'm sure you know this, but for all the little kids out there, you get a better performance boost from increasing the FSB than from increasing the multiplier. For instance, a 2500+ at 11/200 will perform better than at 10.5/190.

no dude, look close at what he posted
For instance, a 2500+ at 11/200 will perform better than at 10.5/190.

notice that the latter will still be slower than the former :p

he shoulda said "11/190 will be slower than 10.5/200"

/end newbie lesson

Not to thread jack...

but I've often heard that higher FSB performs better, but I've never heard the technical explanation why. Anyone got info on that?

because with a faster FSB the CPU can access the memory faster.

Not to counterfeit the fact that 200mhz fsb is faster then 190mhz.... But ive noticed (on my xp2600) sisoft and 3dmark scored a bit lower @ 200mhz then at 192mhz.

Kingston Value ram the curprit?

Did you change your timings? If so, that would be the culprit. I know I can only get up to 190ish at CAS2.0, then I have to bump to 2.5, so I stay at 190 for now.
