Alternative Sil 3132 on ESXi 6

I'm running ESXi 6.0 u2, with a simple 2-port Silicon 3132 chipset, which I strongly suspect of PSOD-ing my machine ever so often.

Does anyone know a good, *officially supported* alternative for the deprecated 3132 chipset?! Their HCL doesn't seem to contain any controllers at all. And most controllers I find are either RAID, or need to be flashed first.

Thanks.

I recall using a SIL3114 with no problems. But I think those were Sata2 only? Not sure if that chipset ever supported above 2TB either.

I now bought a new SATA3 card with an ASMedia ASM1061 chipset (which is known to work with ESXi 6). Elsewhere I saw my fears confirmed “The silicon Images chipsets are known for their instability. Heavy loads on them will cause the chipset to lockup, or crash. BSODing Windows, or cause other undesirable behavior.”
