123Numbers - The Van Der Waerden Numbers project (123numbers.org) aims to find better lower bounds for these numbers. The sequence of colors BRRBBRRB (where B is blue and R is red) does not have an evenly spaced subsequence of length 3 that are the same color. However, if you add a B to the end, you get BRRBBRRBB, which has the same color blue in positions 1,5, and 9 which are evenly spaced 4 apart. If you add an R to the end, you get BRRBBRRBR, which has R at position 3, 6, and 9. In fact, with only two colors, there is no sequence of length 9 of Bs and Rs that does not have a subsequence of 3 evenly spaced of the same color. Van der Waerden's Theorem states that for any number of colors r and length k, a long enough sequence always has an evenly spaced subsequence of the same color. The smallest length guaranteed to have an evenly spaced subsequence is called the Van Der Waerden Number and is written W(k,r). For example, W(3,2)=9 in the example above. This project aims to find better lower bounds for Van Der Waerden Numbers by finding sequences like BRRBBRRB using large prime numbers with special properties.

* - Note that this project does not let you join teams and will count all of your points to their team at the projects it attaches to. You also must use this as your account manager rather than attaching as an individual project. You are then entered into a drawing to win money a number of times determined by how much you contribute. You also will not see your points show up under BOINCStats of other stats sites as they do not report your contributions like other BOINC projects do. It is also considered an account manager like BOINCStats BAM! is.

TN-Grid - TN-Grid is a platform that uses Internet-connected computers to do research in various scientific projects. You can participate by downloading and running a free program on your computer.
TN-Grid is based at the Research Area of Trento of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR) and currently hosted by the University of Trento (UNITN). The first project we host is
gene@home, in collaboration with Fondazione Edmund Mach (FEM) and the Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science (DISI) of UNITN.
We would also like to thank the members of the BOINC.Italy community who are helping us in this testing phase.
This project requires an invitation code during sign up. If you would like it, please PM me here. They have requested that we not post it anywhere publicly.

Universe - Main goal of the project is to create database based on simulations of stars and galaxies, from their earliest days till their evolutionary end. It will be a valuable source of information to astronomers and also an educational tool for teachers and other people interested in the world they live in.
Using latest theories of astrophysics we will be able to predict the properties of different stars, trace their evolution and study their interactions with each other.
Information gained from this research project will allow us to expand our knowledge about stars forming, heavy elements content in their primordial medium, and answer many questions stated by astronomers and general relativity theory.
Database created will allow to not only adjust the theories to reality, but also to predict future appearance of the sky that the future astronomers will look at.

VGTU project@home - Our goal is to persuade scientists to use this kind of computations in their research and to assist them in preparing BOINC applications. We hope that qcientific applications from various fields will be attractive to many current and future BOINC community volunteers and this will allow us to accumulate enough computing resources to achieve significant (unachievable otherwise) results.

Seventeen or Bust - What do Newcomb's Problem, Sierpiński Numbers, and Chaos Theory have in common? According to "The Math Book", they are each one of history's 250 major milestones in mathematics.
The Math Book notes for Sierpiński Numbers that, "As of February 2008, there were a mere six candidate numbers that had not been eliminated."
"If mathematicians are able to find a prime of the proper form for all the remaining k, the Sierpiński problem will be solved and the [over] 50-year quest ended.

Prime Sierpinski Problem - PRP - We look at a special class of prime numbers called proth numbers which have the general formula k*2^n+1. We further specialize our search by looking at numbers for which k is prime in k*2^n+1. Furthermore it has been proven that there exists an infinite number of prime k's such that k*2^n+1 can never be prime. These k's are called prime sierpinski numbers.

Collatz - at least for OpenCL Intel CPU apps
It does, but not as efficiently as running 4 WUs on each of the 4 cores. The overhead of multi-threading loses about 3% on quad cores and 5% on 8 core machines.
Cosmology - Their virtualbox app is.
ATLAS
PrimeGrid - requires an app_config

Non-BOINC
FAH

The following projects and/or sub-projects are known to perform better with Hyper Threading turned off.

PrimeGrid - Most perform better with HT off, however you may see a reduction in heat if you turn it off on the sub projects that see little or no gain/loss at all.
--- SGS LLR is ~ 4.5% faster with HT off and less heat
--- 321 LLR some claim it can be up to 50% faster with HT off.

The following have been tested to have better results with it turned on:
Rioja - 25-30% better
Rosetta - 25-30% according to info found here: http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum_thread.php?id=6419
PrimeGrid
---SR5 - seems to prefer HT turned on (at least with SSD's) according to some numbers by our EVGA friends http://forums.evga.com/Prime-Grids-Solar-Eclipse-2015-Challenge-m2306586.aspx

Primegrid PSP HT off
PPS-LLR about = on or off slightley faster with HT off but not enough diffrence for me to take the time to reboot and turn HT on or off.
CUL-LLR HT off
Sierpinski/Riesel Base 5 (LLR) HT off = about a 10% increase over HT on in PPD

Asteroids HT on
Mind molding HT on about 25% more ppd
NumberFields@home HT on = almost doubble AMD is faster at this project but currentley recieves less credit per WU Boinc's credit system is messed up on this project.
Primbotica AMD is faster on this project clock for clock HT on is the way to run it on Intel.
Enigma AMD is faster than Intel clock for clock HT on on Intel is best
