Is there any software that is similar to alcohol 120% that can mount images/create images/burn images and is free?

I don't think it'll create or burn images, but it mounts 'em, and there are better programs out there for that anyway.

as mentioned Deamon Tools to mount a virtual drive

then there is IMGBurn from the maker of DVDecypter
generally you round out the "suite" with DVDShrink as well

of course you wouldnt need that if your just employing the other two for CDs
