I rarely play games through to the end. Usually because the story is not compelling enough or the gameplay is lousy, or both.
I cannot comment on this sequel, but the first Alan Wake was one of the few games I have completed. Set in the Pacific Northwest, the story and presentation were well done. If American Nightmare is even half as interesting it'll be worth a look - you can't beat the price.
