I ordered one back in December, still hasn't shipped. :-\
Somebody on another forum said that they are out there but shipments are slow because of the Chinese new year. Hopefully very soon!

Here's another update.
From checking out the article: what I think is most interesting is that there isn't a huge difference between TB1, TB2, and TB3 in terms of frame rates (well, to be clear, it is noticeable, but not cripplingly bad). It doesn't act as a significant bottleneck. This means I could just get an eGPU and keep using my 2011 iMac.
Sandy Bridge apparently is the king of longevity, I haven't felt a need to upgrade really. The only downsides is the GPU and lack of USB 3.0. The GPU situation being alleviated by getting an external.
