Good Afternoon,

I am looking to add airplay to my existing Harmon Kardon receiver. I am aware of Apple Airport Express/ TV solutions, however I want to see what i can do with NO additional hardware purchases.

I currently connect my ipod touch 4th gen to my receiver via aux cable. The goal is to remotely control the ipod OR stream from the ipod to an existing device.

Currently I own a 360 and wii u which may be of some use, however I am unsure. I am considering jailbreaking the ipod to install veency and then install a VNC viewer to my Android Razr Maxx for controlling ipod remotely.

I greatly appreciate any ideas which i can try and/or use

Thanks Coffee!!! I am definitely going to research this app and download it ( its cheap ). I wonder if the receiving device has to be a xbox 360 or can be something else.... say an android smart phone other other DLNA device.

Thanks and I will report back ASAP.

Update: I downloaded and installed the app. I have yet to test it, however itunes user feed back states the ipod cannot be used to control the music ( ie... change tracks etc.. )

Once im home I will report back. Any other suggestions in the mean time are appreciated

Depending on the situation I use:

Streaming from desktop to AirPlay devices:
tunes - obviously (free)
AirFoil - allows me to stream audio from any windows application to airplay devices- http://rogueamoeba.com/airfoil/ (paid)

Making devices into AirPlay recivers
Apple:
- app Airfoil Speakers - http://rogueamoeba.com/airfoil/ios/ (free)

Windows
-Shairport4w - http://sourceforge.net/projects/shairport4w/ (free)

Android
- app Airfoil Speakers - http://www.rogueamoeba.com/airfoil/android/ (free)

So in your situation you didn't mention any old laptops you have, that's what I do... but you could use the airfoil speakers app on your android phone, then stream from your touch natively. you could also use your touch to control your pc/mac itunes library via the iTunes remote app.
