So I've this cheap router...an Airlink 101 AR670W flashed with DD-WRT.

Works well my Window 7 and Ubuntu boxes.

For some reason, on all Mac devices, I completely lose the wifi connection when it's been idle for a while. This happens on my iMac and iPod touch only, and not the other machines.

I realize it's a cheap router, but could there be any other kind of explanation? I've tried different channels with no success. Also tried both WPA2 TKIP and AES.

Once I lose connection, I have to turn wifi off and on again for the Mac to re-connect. This did not happen with my D-Link router.

Did you test it first with stock firmware? Might want to try flashing back to stock and see if it's a router or dd-wrt bug

had dd-wrt on another router and it worked fine. if i keep something like twitter open in the background and the connection doesnt go idle, i dont lose the signal

Just because it worked on a different router doesn't mean there can't be an issue on this router, try it with the stock firmware to test
