So, they price is more or less the same. Which one is better?

X850 pro, 256 bit memory bus will allow you to reach higher resolutions and more eye candy with less performance hit. I went from a 6800GT to a X800XTPE and it was a world of differance in pure performance.

Yeah the x850pro with some that vanilla 6800. Don't be mislead by the 512mb of ram on the 68; its useless compared to the x850pro's 256; not to mention the pro is slightly cheaper for ya too

OK, thanks guys.

Frankly speaking I have already ordered x850. Then I found 6800 and got some doubts. I believe x850 should be better, but it was like a sixth sense.

Good choice. Hopefully you've got a decent cpu as well. Something equal to a 3Ghz P4

AMD Venice 3500+ and 1G RAM, waiting for a small drop in prices, so I can buy another stick do get dual memory bandwidth.

Debateable whether that price drop will come for ddr

Now if it was a 512MB 6800Ultra, it would be a bit different. Though I'd imagine the X850Pro would still be close, if not slightly faster, but at least there would be a debate.

I agree with the above post though. Don't let ram fool you. There are plenty of 256MB Radeon 9200's and crap like that. Those cards are too damned slow to ever need that kind of memory. Plus the crippled 64bit bus doesn't help either.

The X850Pro will be much faster. It only falls behind when compared to nVidia's 16-pipe cards like the 6800GT and Ultra.

X850 is faster than a 6800nu. It doesnt matter, even if you go to higher resolutions, that card cant utilize it's 512mb of memory. Not worth it IMO.
