Afterburner unlock voltages on Asus 5870 V2?

I ran into the same issue here...

looks like V2 is a non-reference design..

Found out Afterburner doesn't support voltages yet, what I've been told. Oced the card yet?

I oced up to 1000/1300 but require 1.28 voltage..

the max temp stays @ 70c, don't know if that is acceptable..

Stock volts I could only do 980/1300. Maybe 990-1000 if I kept the temps under 70c. Above 70c lock-up driver errors occured. With a 1.268 dump gave me 1050/1300 loading at 76c max, 36-38% fan.

ok, I think mine is a defective card.... it crashes even on stock setting.....odd

this is the third card for 5870 that I order from newegg that is defective...

and the one I bought through other site are totally fine...aww this is cracking me up..

Probably has a different voltage chip than the volterra chip of the original reference design?

Those are some odds. Have you considered looking at your system overclock or your PSU?

it is odd, seems I have bad luck with newegg somehow..

the XFX 5870 I bought back in frys have no issue at all and OC perfectly up to 1040/1350 with no issue at all..

and all the cards that I order from Newegg somehow magically even unstable @ 950...and not mentioning it gave me some weird white line all over the screen in some 3D app...

Are they reference or non-reference designs? What other AIB's did you try? I'm curious.

the order I bought is XFX -> Sapphire -> ASUS all from newegg...

and I bought a XFX -> Diamond from Frys without a issue...

Here are a couple of post with V2 porn:

Doesn't look a volterra onborad, can't read the chip. Also this card uses Samsung and not Hynix like the Matrix :(

huh... Matrix is on sale now?

if it is, I really want to grab one..... :D

IIRC, that thing is a OC beast that goes up to 1080 Core.... If that is true, I might get rid of the GTX 480 that I just order for this one

Don't know if they are forsale or not. One site took the Matrix apart and gave out details. I might be able to get around the 1080 to 1100 mark with the V2. Just 30mhz to go. Help if I could get a waterblock, fan noise is starting to play a factor for day to day use. Also get some support for Afterburner.
