I'm too young to have known what was good back in the day, so any recommendations?

I've got a BFG FX card and the heatsink is thin and pathetic.
I don't need a monster, but I feel that I ought to replace this.
 
GeForce fx is a product line. Which model do you have? Artic cooling made a lot of gpu coolers back then. There were some universal ones as well. Thermaltake, Vantec, zalman. That being said, the stock coolers were good enough for stock speeds. Are you trying to max out an over clock?
 
I've got a BFG FX 5600.

I'm mostly just looking at what options I have.
The current cooler is so incredibly thin and janky that almost anything else would seem like an upgrade.
