What refresh rates can you do at 2560 x 1440?
Over at OCN some users says they can get 70hz from their Shimian.
This post over at OCN pretty much sums it up.

I used Necris' timings for OC.net and was able to achieve 96 and 100hz on my 850D. I slightly changed them because my 850D went bonkers when using the same timings. Still have to confirm if it skips frames or not but it is interesting that they work with PLS displays as well.
No, you need a dual-link DVI port.
What happens if the game resolution is set to 1024x768, will there be black bars all around? The catleap can't handle non-native resolutions. I tried feeding it 720p, but I get a garbled image no matter what timing parameters I try. The centering was done by that user's video card.
It's not likely to work. HDMI is single-link, so I don't even know what that adapter is for.BanDeodorant said:Yikes can't believe that I forgot about that.
Would this one work? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812225036
Couldn't seem to find a dual link version on monoprice.
That depends on your video card's scaling settings. You should be able to scale it while maintaining the aspect ratio, leaving black bars on the left and right.WickedWeasel said:What happens if the game resolution is set to 1024x768, will there be black bars all around?

NPThanks for the update, SJetski!
FFS, these guys must know I'm about to do my taxes (late, yeah yeah)...
Note to thread-skimmers, remember the Shimian's refresh rate doesn't go as high as the Catleap's.
I totally hear you Limahl, everyone has their own list of concerns and preferences. It seems though that the Catleaps have more issues with backlight problems and pixels if memory serves after reading the entire thread over there the past couple of days.
I'd grab the cheap Ahieva Shim model and enjoy 60Hz just fine myself, but everyone is different.
Honestly, there isn't a big enough sample size to make a determination.Limahl said:It seems though that the Catleaps have more issues with backlight problems and pixels if memory serves after reading the entire thread over there the past couple of days.
I'm not an owner but i've read each post two or three times now in both threads. All you would need is a standard three prong powersupply-type cable, otherwise the included power brick does all of the voltage converting. While people with these panels are actively viewing this, what did you buy (or already have) to hook this up to a US electrical outlet? Just wondering if it doesn't matter what I buy for that stuff (since tbh I've never had to do it before)
