I may snag one of these. Been looking for an ultra wide and the 75mgz refresh is better then most of these sized monitors.

it held that price for a long time. And there are relatively few players in this resolution/size with freesync. In fact I think this is the only one.

My workstation has a flat 32" 4K display flanked by two portrait-mode 24" 1440p displays and topped with two more 24" 1440p displays in landscape mode.
If I had it to do over again, I'd go for a curved 4K central monitor, like maybe this 40" model: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA2RY6UP4216,
because off-angle viewing of documents annoys me.

60Hz is fine with me. These days I mainly use my workstation for, unbelievably, work.
None of the games on the market right now are worth my time to play, they bore me -- just a matter of taste I guess.
And twitch games have never been my thing, anyway, so 60Hz has never been too little for me.

I have to say for ultra-widescreen I've been really satisfied with the Samsung CF791 and faster refresh @ 100

Got it for a steal at microcenter too - i think it was a pricing mistake as it only lasted a few hours

Too late, I caved and went the tv route and grabbed one of these in 49" https://www.sony.com/electronics/televisions/xbr-x900f-series

Then got a stand for it to make it like a pc monitor...

It does 3840x1600 well too.
