LOL.....annnnnnnd I'm out.
Do you think all the people that have already have them, and have issues, are happy campers? They are the early adopters of a niche market, and set the stage for future potential buyers. Having early reviews of the product show such glaring issues is not good for such a high end luxury device few will buy anyway. All I'm saying is a gaming LCD at this price point needs to be damn near flawless, with such heavy competition as you mentioned already present.
What is MY judgements exactly outside of not wanting to pay $2000 for a "tiny" 27" display. It is odd to me that you are judging this monitor without seeing the gaming experience,
That is for sure! This is what $2000 got me over 2 years ago. I waited 6 years to move from my TRIPLE screen 24" setup and could not be happier. I love gaming on this thing. It is a 48" JS9000 from Samsung. I am not paying $2000 to move to a 27" screen 2 years later. And yes, I do have experience with 27" HDR 144Hz displays and gaming. There is no way those represent a value a over this for my needs. That this statement can be made means we live in good times.
Personally I would rather have both.IMO, Image quality beats display size.
There are televisions that have active cooling. A lot of displays come with powerful SOCs to handle the smart software demanded by customers these days. Why do screens need fans? Thought the backlight don't produce heat. Or not enough to need a fan.
This is probably correct. Early displays with the G-Sync FPGA had overheating issues. I believe the early revision of the PG278Q added more vents to the chassis for better airflow.
But the TV won't have gsync and that is a deal breaker. For $2000 you can buy a fantastic 50" 4k TV which would be way more immersive.
They will have Freesync soon though. But the TV won't have gsync and that is a deal breaker.
$3,000 gaming GPU? What? Where?$2000 gaming monitor to pair with the new $3000 gaming GPU. This shit is getting ridiculous.
These manufacturers are seriously getting detached from the reality of distinguishing between household consumers and enterprise spenders.
$3,000 gaming GPU? What? Where?
Can't take what he says seriously if he thinks the 1080 Ti debuted at $799. Coincidentally, that was the price the internet thought it would be ($800-$850).https://www.tweaktown.com/news/62196/nvidias-next-gen-gtx-1180-rumors-999-1499-aug-sept/index.html
Not sure if I believe this pricing on base 1180s, the performance would have to be incredible for a next gen upgrade.
money is money, if it's not worth $2K to you, it's not worth $2K! complain all you want about price.
i haven't seen anyone question where l88bastard and Vega are coming from, but, you should go dig up their post histories, because these guys have gone through multiple iterations of the most [H] monitor setups to exist on this forum, if not consumer PC gaming worldwide in general. I remember Vega's 3x FW900 setup with frenel lenses, also, i think he went through two different 5x portrait monitor setups within the space of a month! a month! the guy is crazy. i think he picked up 3x 980 Ti's on a whim for that setup cause hey - 5400x1920 resolution is ridiculous (could be wrong on the details, it was awhile ago.)
anyway the posts that prove the pedigree of these guys being on the bleeding edge of consumer monitor setups are here on the forum for anyone to read, so when they say that this is a breakthrough, i'm listening. i'm not even in the market for a monitor, i just like geeking out over new technology as it trickles down to the consumer market
just my 2 cents
... a spacer to add more space between the monitor and the vesa mount specifically to give the fan some breathing room. It has a flat side and an open side. The guy just mounted the flat side against the fan instead of the open side ...
Ooh that's gotta hurt.
Titan V isn't a gaming card.
It seems that the VESA mount was actually mounted correctly as designed by Acer. Here is another close-upI haven't mounted mine yet on my VESA arm so I wasn't able to verify, but apparently the German guy didn't even mount the bracket right lol
Regarding this video about the loud fan when mounted, a reddit user said the mount bracket was likely pu t on backwards.
"Now i saw a youtube video of some guy saying the fan has no airflow if you use a vesa mount. He complained it made the fan too loud to use. Well here is his problem.

This is the thing it comes with. This is not some kind of mounting bracket. This is technically a spacer to add more space between the monitor and the vesa mount specifically to give the fan some breathing room. It has a flat side and an open side. The guy just mounted the flat side against the fan instead of the open side. Both sides have the exact same screw holes and the thing didn't include any pictures so I guess not everyone can be expected to have the same level of common sense."

Ooh that's gotta hurt.
Update from the guy who made the original video, Acer contacted him and offered to exchange the VESA mount spacer.I thought zee Germans were suppose to be smartesh.
Oh really? Because I don't see you or any of the other "MEH BIGGEM DISPLAAAHH" people running out to buy the 43" 4k120hz mango display @ $1,400 either.
So lets be honest:
1) You are all hating on the price, which is understandable....2 large is alot
2) You have no idea how awesome this display really is, because you are using your existing displays as base line comparisons and this thing blows those away.
3) While 32" would be my preferable size, 27" is not small when you consider 163 DPI and how detailed and crisp everything is. Its the same exact situation with a mobile phone, you can read the small screens on your mobile because they have awesome PPI.
4) Cheap quality, lol W T F you guys want a gold diamond studded fan ROFL. A few seem to have fan issues, but I know mine and several others do not. If my fan breaks I will RMA or simply open it up, unplug one wire and plug another in...maybe even water cool the bitch ahahaha
Welcome to 2014 Kyle ;-)
The problem is 60hz feels like HIV on my mouse hand after a few hours of work productivity and I cannot enjoy competitive FPS @ 60hz. This X27 feels like how a high end PC display should be. Not too large so you do not need to turn your head, tight DPI so text reads like a high quality magazine and gaming is freaking amazing.
As some here may know, I used to be the BIGGEM KING, along with Vega I did many builds using triple portrait monitors over the years, until eventually giving in to the annoying bezel gaps and settling on a 55" OLED.
Do you guys remember this 5x1 debezelled beast? Cause this was one of my old setups from 2011. TRUST ME, I KNOW BIGGEM Better than Yall!
