Acer 20.1" WideScreen LCD $190 AC

has anyone done this yet? the 50$ off 200$ coupons i saw on ebay say

"May not be combined with any other coupon or instant saving"

so will it work?
 
the monitor is good lookin tho. Is this available in store?
 
y's dvi so important? does it make things look more detailed or something?

wen i used a vga t o dvi converter it made absolutely no difference
 
using a converter won't make a difference at all because it's still the analog (right?) vga signal being passed through the converter, whereas using an actual dvi connection is digital. Or something like that... I dunno. :p
 
im planning to buy this monitor, anyone knows the quality of this lcd.

DVI is important to be because then I could plug both of my rigs into into it along with another dvi/vga monitor and have both rigs be dual monitior rigs.
 
DVI gets you much better image quality at higher resolutions.

When you use a DVI to VGA adapter, it doesn't actually convert the signal, you're using the analog component that's passed through DVI (unless it's DVI-D, in which case there is no analog component)
 
I agree, DVI -> VGA is no good. I tried it out awhile back and got a lot of ghosting, it was just not nice to look at.
