Ace Combat the next game hitting the 360?

Yeah I heard about this a few days* ago. I don't play them, but I know hardcore fans of it.
 
I love ace combat, pisses me off its coming for 360 since it was one of the main title i bought a PS3 for (SOCOM, MGS, GT, and AC were the ones i wanted a PS3 for).

That's awesome! I hope it's as good as some of the older ones. AC 4 was the best one in my opinion. I just didn't have as much fun with the one's that came out after it.
 
I'm not sure I'd personally get it, but I know a few others who would love to get it.
 
Blargh, I dunno....PS2s controller was pretty nice for a semi-realistic flight sim. I personally dislike the X360 controller, but I know others who swear by it, so meh.
 
I hope it's true...I prefer arcade style dogfighting to the hardcore sim style. However, the last Ace Combat game I played (probably on the PS1) was kinda meh..

Same here, I just bought my 360 and one of the games I bought for it was G lock and was very quickly disapointed with it. I paid full price for it and sold it to Gamestop for $12 in less then 48hours.

Maybe I'm crazy...but if I really wanted to invest the time and effort it takes to master hardcore flight sims, then I would have applied to the Airforce academy and tried to become a real jet jockey.:p
 
I'd say it's pretty official considering there's theme & picture packs available on XBL. :)
 
i am gonna rent it first and hope like hell its much better than OverG Fighters

i bought Over G because i was a long time fan of Ace Combat and was hoping it would be as good or better, and it sucked balls

i could have sworn i read a bit in the latest GameInformer that also confirmed a new Ace Combat for 360.......also UT3 is confirmed on the 360 as well :)
 
Air Combat (the first one on PS1) was the best, and I mean best ace combat released to date!

That was back in 1995. Good times :D

So far, it is a 360 exclusive. I don't think anyone would be terribly shocked if it made it to the PS3, though.

Yeah, it'll probably show up in a few months I'd think...probably sans the live/online multiplayer component of course, but I never really liked multiplayer jet sims...X-Wing vs TIE was probably the last one I really liked. But we were sorted hardcore-style into squadrons and stuff and played through campaigns. :D

I don't think Namco is ready to incur the wrath of Sony's ninjas yet. :eek:

Let's not forget the new Sixaxis's motion sensitivity. Wtf... btw, why is this not coming out for PS3? All Ace Combats before it came out on a Playstation I believe, and it'd be cool to see what it could do with the motion sensitivity.

It probably has to do with the fact that the Xbox 360 userbase is like 8 million more then the Playstation 3. They're going were there's the best chance of making a bigger profit.
 
I had zero interest in this game until I saw screenies about a month and a half ago.

Now my interest is piqued to say the least. The game is absolutely beautiful.

How can you not have interest? Its Ace Combat! Always been an awesome game and teh controls just get better...

Anyway, i read somewhere that its a timed exclusive so it'll probably be on ps3 after a while on 360.

Not really my type of game, that's why.

I'll be interested to see what kind of reviews it gets and then make a decision. There are so many great 360 titles coming in the next 6 months that it's going to be hard to play them all.
 
I'll probably pick it up awhile after it comes out. Definitely on my "must have" list of 2007. I haven't played a decent combat flight sim since.....I dunno....Wings of War? heh...
 
ace combat is my favorite console series and AC6 looks killer, too bad it will be overshadowed by all the other games releasing this fall and not get the attention it deserves.
 
All I have to say is...HOT DAMN!

Ace combat is one of my ALL time favorite games. I have played EVERY Ace Combat game starting back with their first Air Combat for Playstation.

Ace Combat 4 was my favorite so far. I never got into Ace 5 all that much, however this just looks SICK. The only issue is, I don't have a 360 :(.

So true, flight sims have always been in the minority really, even launch titles, and especially on consoles to boot. AC4/5/Zero never really got the attention they deserved I thought, though both AC4 and AC5 did end up Greatest Hits, so they did sell.

I'd estimate <= 6 months before the PS3 release, perhaps...when they're done porting/recompiling for the Cell/RSX or when PS3 sales hit what they want. I'll personally be waiting.

I agree, I think they should wait to release it sometime in Q1 of 08. I saw the trailer last night, and it looks truly amazing. Now I definitely want to pick it up.
