Does anyone know of some word-processor that allows you to put expanding/contracting accordions in text documents? (something like the boxes on this page)

I desperately need to be able to scrunch down some blocks of text, so that my documents aren't 10 miles long.

Thanks.

depending on the text, you could use Notepad++ or some other type of code editor.

You may have to "define" areas where the text needs to be collapsible.

Luckily, I already use Notepad++, but, unluckily, it doesn't support any kind of "rich-text" formatting. (as in a regular .rtf or .doc file) I need the accordions for formatted documents. :(

depending on the use of this, how about simply splitting them up into different files? or actually make a web page with that code for the expandable-text-box feature.

or make it into a PDF where you can break things up into pages, chapters, sections, etc. and select which chapter to jump to in the menu bar.
