Accessing Exchange 2007 Outlook Light from inside network

I am trying to find out how to access outlook light for exchange 2007 from insisde a network.

It works fine from the outside, eg: https://mail.ourdomain.com
I know this is caused because something can't differentiate between what is inside and what is outside the network. Is this DNS? DHCP? how do I fix it?

Also I have been trying to access it from inside the network with things like:
https://mail.%mailserver%.domain
https://mail.192.168.1.xxx
https://mail.mailserver
192.168.1.xxx:80
192.168.1.xxx:443

and the list goes on.. nothing seems to work

never mind the 2nd part..

https://192.168.1.xxx works fine.. i just wasn't reading the page in IE saying there was a certificate error.. so it works, there is just an ssl cert error which is fine since it is inside the network. i think....
