Currently I am looking at these two motherboards for a new P4 system. I am going to put a 2.8ghz (800FSB) processor in it. Which one of the two boards would have better overclocking potential?

not considering a board with the i875p chipset? I heard the 875 was better overall for OCing.

If you have the money to spend, then go for the Abit IC7 Max3.

If not, I've been very pleased with my IS7-E (the less-featured IS7 series board)

After reading some of the replies, I looked at the Abit-IC7, listed at $166CND, which is roughly $40 more than IS7. May I ask why this board is so cheap, comparing it to Asus' Intel 875 boards, which are $200 and over. If I am getting this correctly, Intel 875 boards can hit higher overclocks?

If it's just the IC7, not Max 2 or Max 3, that's because the IC7 is just the basic Abit i875P motherboard

So which motherboard will give me more potential IC7 or IS7 or P4P800E?
