First there was a net neutrality deal between Google and Verizon (here), then Google flat out denied any deal (here), now we have a full on deal…as described on the Google Public Policy blog.

]In October, our two companies issued a shared statement of principles on network neutrality. A few months later we submitted a joint filing to the FCC, and in an April joint op-ed our CEOs discussed their common interest in an open Internet. Since that time, we have listened to all sides of the debate, engaged in good faith with policy makers in multiple venues, and challenged each other to craft a balanced policy framework. We have been guided by the two main goals.

Just something else that gets announced and brushed aside, then something else comes along, and brushed aside, and so on and so on ad nauseum.

well that was unexpected :rolleyes:
well to clarify, the announcement was surely expected but the content truly surprised me. I half expected Verizon to side with the packet prioritizing crowd myself but hey they come out on top regardless of which way it falls .
 
Companies and politicians don't seem to loose credibility when caught in a lie anymore.
 
Based on what they said in the conference call it seems they plan on offering future pay-for services which would receive priority over other services. Of course they wouldn't tell anybody what it is since they said they will be demonized in the press.

I'm tired of google go away.
 
Just what we need, more government regulation and power, and more taxpayer money wasted on a department to administer the regulation, who will probably waste time surfing for porn instead. SEC, I'm looking at YOU.
