A hot deal NOW HOTTER - X2 BE 2400 2.3GHz $25 FS

If you have the room though, and a few bucks more, the mini ninja cools significantly better. It could easily run this cpu passively.

im lookin at throwing together a little HTPC with this chip, but i need a decent case/psu for it that doesnt cost an arm and a leg.... anyone help me out?

I bought this one:

Works fine, very small, looks good, too. Even decent build quality. Noisy power supply though. All of the non-standard power supplies are probably going to be noisy, and it only holds 80mm fans. I've I'd had my druthers I would've spent a little more and got something that would accommodate a normal power supply and some larger fans.

This is one that actually is fairly cheap, and at least has a 90mm fan & 90mm fan openings instead of just 80mm.

Shipping is deadly, but the price is decent, it looks nice, has good internal storage, and an integrated card reader. Very cool.

I considered this one as well:

If you have good enough case airflow, which often tiny HTPC's struggle with, without being on the noisy side.

I recommend one of Antec's cases. This is the cheapest option for $100

Comes with a nigh quality 380w psu and these cases have exceptional airflow. The combo I'm using is the Antec Fusion (similar to the one i linked) with the Scythe mini ninja.

I can tell you this. Buy the case above with the minja, with the CPU in this thread, and as long as you don't get a mobo with a noisy chipset cooler or a noisy video card, your hard drive will be the loudest component in your case.

I've also played around with the idea of building an htpc around the Minuet for $90

But I can't speak to its airflow.

well my buddy just got this board a couple weeks ago and he said he can only get 2 channel out of it
he's pretty knowledgeable, so I figured he was right
I tried to do some research tonight, but it looks like HDMI audio is just one huge clusterfuck and I gave up
There could be a lot of reasons why he's only getting two-channel over hdmi, this thread at AVS offers a few solutions, that particular page has a decent amount of info.

Here's a deal on a decent/fairly silent cpu cooler ($12 AR).

anyone got any deals with ram the gigab mobo and this chip. Im really looking at getting something to make a new htpc but i havent looked at pc stuff in a while if you check my sig.

The CPU is the hot deal right now with the promo code. I thought it was a better buy than all the combos. Just wait for a killer deal on a mobo if y'ant to.

Any more suggestions on a cheap mobo for a build for my parents? Occasional roller coaster tycoon and battlefront played on it by my lil bros :)

You can even OC the 780G integrated graphics for more 3D horsepower. Plenty of 780G reviews on the web.

Well I bit on one. I had a x2 5600 (stock) in my HTPC, but I figured I could sell that, and get the lower heat, lower power, and lower cost with this thing.

wow, that sucks!

I watch [H]otDeals every day. Usually warm and luke-warm deals, or stuff I just don't need.

The one day I miss, yesterday, and I miss out on a deal I want.

I'm curious, OP, where did code come from? I subscribe to NE emails, but I didn't get any notice of this deal ???????

Too cheap to pass up, grabbed one this morning before the fourms started acting up.now to find a deal on some ram

Wish it was still working :( Saw this yesterday, and decided to bite a few minutes ago, but it's dead.

Yep, the code is dead now.

dam, i missed it. :(

Sorry 'bout that. :(

I just happened to catch it on another forum - don't worry, not specifically for them only as far as I know. I was like "Holy CRAP that's a freaking good deal. I just bought one for $30 and THAT was a screamin' deal. I love this processor enough to buy another one!"

So I tried the promo code, it worked, I ordered, and started this thread at the same time. Even though it's OEM this was a blistering hot deal. Sometimes I miss out on the best deals too. Fry's had a bunch of those nice LED Antec tri-cool fans for like $3 with free shipping!!!! By the time I hit the site they were ALL OOS. I was so peeved. :(

i have a feeling the deal will come around again so i wouldn't lose all hope. i bought one even though i dont think i need it. figure i'll build an HTPC over time when deals pop up.

dont mean to bump an old thread, but just curious how everyone is doing with these chips? finally got mine installed the other day, and it is currently running at 3105mhz, testing for stability now. its orthos stable at 3ghz for over 12hrs. not bad for 25 bones :D

I didn't buy mine to overclock this time. I bought it for low temps and power consumption in an HTPC. It's served that purpose EXTREMELY well. I'm very impressed with this little 45w processor. It's excellent.

We need to get this moved to discussions, though.

after i find the max stable clock, im going to see how it does undervolted. great little chip. yea im sure a mod will move to discussions any time now.

3105 here too taking 1.57v thou

sweet, im getting it done with 1.4v, 57c load. TRUE sink should be here tomorrow to help temps. i bought it along with a m3a79-t deluxe. the be2400 should hold me over a couple months till i jump on a phenom.
